This is probably a dumb question, but here goes: The Feb. 1 deadline is when your application needs to be submitted by, not "complete" on Harvard's end, right? I got an email from my last recommender yesterday saying he would be sending my letter in "around January 18," so I'm getting a little worried about that deadline. Ugh.

Edit: and it's not really a hard deadline as I understand it.

Whoa, wtf? Guess that's coming for me as well. Seems ridiculous considering people close to your numbers got in off the waitlist last year. Sorry to hear that

ETA: think it has anything to do with you still being in undergrad? just hypothesizing, but maybe they prefer people with our numbers that are out of undergrad if they HAVE to take us? still can't believe that...

(I'm still in undergrad so I'm anticipating this happening to me as well)

This has been exactly my thought process, although until today I thought I was a waitlist then probable reject.
