Just got my scholarship award (merit only) via email...I basically got a full ride. Which is pretty awesome! Although, I was hoping to leave Chicago, so I guess I have some tough decisions ahead.

Just got the full scholarship email a few minutes ago, which confirms that they are rolling the offers out -- not just mass mailing similar offers. Stats and such in my profile. Really excited about it. I was very nervous because I ended up staying up all night during a business trip and writing those essays in my hotel room the day before the were due. I was so cross-eyed before I sent them in that I had no idea what was in them, and somehow in my rush to the airport, I didn't even save copies for myself to agonize over later.

For those who have heard back with award decisions...did anyone try and leverage merit scholarship offers from other schools?

Mine was, I assume they all were.

No, I didn't leverage any other merit scholarships to get this one...although I might use this to try and get UTexas to up my scholarship from them to a full ride!

I'm sure I speak for the rest of the applicants and NU class of 2014, that when those of you who got the full rides decide to turn them down, you should include the following:

"While I regret that I cannot accept this scholarship, it is my most ardent desire that that guy who deferred b/c of baby last year receive these funds."

I also got a full scholarship (posted that in another thread) - I applied just before (4-5 days) before the deadline.

I applied after the deadline, actually (was admitted after the deadline). I think I wrote the essays on about March 8th or 9th. My numbers are in my profile (GPA is a bit higher than what it says).

Just read the email from yesterday morning - full Wigmore!!! Totally shocked! I didn't expect it with my numbers, and my WE is solid, but not outstanding. NU seems to do things differently. I hope the rest of you are all equally pleasantly surprised very soon!

To answer the above questions, I submitted my scholly app a few hours before the deadline, and I did not leverage other scholly offers.

I really wish that Johann would just inform us when the awards stop going out in a particular mailing. By saying "more awards going out this morning," ever admitted student dutifully stops working and stares at gmail until he says that it is done.
