Just got a call from Mr. Le. He asked me if I had received any letters yet, I said no, and that I thought they went out today. He said he didn't want to make me wait and wanted to let me know that I am on the WL and that I should be happy about it. Well I'm freaking ecstatic, but now have to wait until May/June, sooo back in the waiting game I guess...

Congrats on the WL!

Thanks! Oh just as a clarification so people don't think I'm special or something for getting a call: Mr. Le was technically calling me back because I had called the office last week, asking if it was too late to add an addendum. He didn't get back to me until today (because he was it committee meetings the last few days), but started of the conversation with the WL notification, and then told me it's too late for an addendum (obviously now).

Hey all I am also a U Washington 2011 applicant and I have been watching this thread for awhile now. I also had a decision on 3/11 and am anxiously awaiting mail from UW. It seems like this is a kind and supportive group of people and I wish everyone the best of luck as this latest batch of decisions are (slowly) sent through the mail!

Congrats on the waitlist! Though I find your wording kinda hilarious.

I know this is the U-dub thread but we oughta get a TLS meet up going in the L&C ASW thread.[/quote]
I'll be going to the L&C asw too so would love to meet up. Decision 3/11, mailing 3/14. I'm anticipating a ding from UW, but it's nice to see most everyone will finally have an answer.

I've already made way too many useless posts in this thread, but yours makes me feel a little better about my waitlist decision. I guess I look at it as a polite rejection, but Le has been pretty honest thus far so if it's something worth being happy about (I'm assuming you didn't mean it quite how it's worded), then that's a good sign for people on the waitlist.

on a side note: oh no at UCLA in the rankings this year
Hah I just realized it sounds pretty weird. He basically said that the committees didn't have too many spots/offers to work with at this point so I should be happy/optimistic about the WL, also given that they received more applications than ever before this year. But who knows how many admits will withdraw.

I'm heading to L&C ASW too! Was in the 3/11 group, mailing went out today, and although I live a 1/4 mile from the law school i have a feeling I won't get it until Wednesday at earliest. Am just so looking forward to crossing another unknown off my list!

My status hasn't changed to "Letter Mailed."

It's leaning towards good, waitlists and rejections go out very quickly; the longer you wait after you're changed to decision the better the result it seems.

I am DR 3/11 and Decision letter send 3/14 .... 166 3.8... my downfall is that I am a FL resident. They probably don't think I actually want to move there (I do!). I am guessing WL.

#30 is great! I am not a big rankings person but I am very happy with that.
80% of graduates employed at graduation is pretty good given the market and compared to similar ranked and regional schools (Emory - 65%, Seattle - 57%, Colorado - 69%, Oregon - 56%).

Will probably see you at SU when the mail comes this afternoon. Are you planning on starting summer at SU?

Just got accepted to SU 5 minutes ago. I would start in the fall. I have an internship lined up this summer already.
Anyone going to Seattle U from UW / Seattle area and feel like making a friend? AIM= bmXXXboy1488 (lol it's from middle school)

Has anyone who DR'd 3/11 and DL sent 3/14 received their letters? I know today is only the 15th, but perhaps some local people received a letter.

If that 80% number is that they're employed in the legal profession then yeah that's good. But like, compared to UCD, which has a 96-98% employment @ graduation, it doesn't look so hot! ALTHOUGH it is also well known that UCD tends to (like most law schools) inflate their numbers by adding non-legal and/or non-full time legal work in their employment statistics.
That of course has the effect of drastically increasing their rank, which is possibly one reason why UW is only rank #30 (they have integrity and don't inflate their #'s?)
I dunno. I wish there was more transparency with this crap. It's such a gamble.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
