OMG!!! So now the consensus is 12/1 batch are rejects?!?!?!? 10 pages earlier everyone was saying they were accepts.
Dude, this morning I was optimistic, but after reading the 10+ pages once I got out of class I'm depressed!

To sum up-
Eearly ambivalence, general wowness about how cool the people in the group are but worry about the low #s factor, a brief bit of optimism, headed downhill when deferrals started going to those who hadn't gone dr yet, burst of anger by those who want to stay positive, fair amount of individual remaining negativity due to numbers I think, but a general idea to just see and hope for at least a mix

I think we have a chance, don't count us out yet! It's the first batch of ED letters! PS- I did read the 10 pages, I was just wondering why the sentiment changed (this is worded wrong, but I can't figure out how to say it)ruleser wrote:To sum up-

because people (including me) are so damn nervous and slightly paranoid. POSITIVITY people, positivity. I know for a fact that some of us in this batch have overcome waaay bigger obstacles than a stupid numerical index.robin600 wrote:

Can't speak for others, but for me it was when they started deferring people who had still been ur and had solid #s - made it seem 11/30 were accepts, ur's were deferred, and we'd be reject/wl - but we have some solid peeps, so we'll see

Generally I agree with you, but you're still forgetting about all the ED people, none of which (barring about 5 auto-admits) have heard ANYTHING yet. So this batch can't be entirely negative.ruleser wrote:Can't speak for others, but for me it was when they started deferring people who had still been ur and had solid #s - made it seem 11/30 were accepts, ur's were deferred, and we'd be reject/wl - but we have some solid peeps, so we'll see

Yeah it's a great feeling; I think it's funny how I fall in love with each school for a couple days in the afterglow of acceptance. I can't wait to visit them.mcflooter06 wrote:I'M IN!!!!

Yeah I think it's interesting that as an international student I'm grouped with a bunch of URMs. While international is not URM, it seems like they did reserve this batch for the non-trads, overall. So I guess it makes me feel good to be grouped with URMsrobin600 wrote:Glad I'm in the URM group!!!! or at least treated like one by GT!!! ftw, blind people are underrepresented in the law field!wootwootdc wrote:I just wish the URMs who are ED step back foward so we can make something out of it...i think theres only one other one out there besides robin..phillaw i think and thats it..the rest seem to be RD

I don't think a disability will give you the boost being URM will, just fyi to keep it all in perspective.robin600 wrote:Glad I'm in the URM group!!!! or at least treated like one by GT!!! ftw, blind people are underrepresented in the law field!wootwootdc wrote:I just wish the URMs who are ED step back foward so we can make something out of it...i think theres only one other one out there besides robin..phillaw i think and thats it..the rest seem to be RD

Maybe not URM boost, but a significant one nonetheless at most schools. It's as much of a boost you can get without actually being 'ethnically' URM, IMO.Veritas wrote:I don't think a disability will give you the boost being URM will, just fyi to keep it all in perspective.robin600 wrote:Glad I'm in the URM group!!!! or at least treated like one by GT!!! ftw, blind people are underrepresented in the law field!wootwootdc wrote:I just wish the URMs who are ED step back foward so we can make something out of it...i think theres only one other one out there besides robin..phillaw i think and thats it..the rest seem to be RD

I feel like it's just a coincidence. I'm not really non-trad (only been out of school working for 2 yrs), definitely not URM, I'm not a splitter, nor do I have exceptional softs.........SanBun wrote:Yeah I think it's interesting that as an international student I'm grouped with a bunch of URMs. While international is not URM, it seems like they did reserve this batch for the non-trads, overall. Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I know what you mean, Veri. I think I may qualify as a splitter, though, just the way that law schools typically DON'T like. I'm not sure if I should be happy or scared. Anxious is a very god description of how I feel.Veritas wrote:I feel like it's just a coincidence. How should I take being defered? Has anyone be rejected yet? Is it a soft reject?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I would take it as a second chance to be considered in a larger pool of applicants later on in the cycle. From what I know, the later applicants tend to be less competitive, but then again the remaining seats in the school are fewer.HJO wrote:How should I take being defered? Has anyone be rejected yet? Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
If you look at last year's LSN, the 12/2 and 12/8 batches were mixed accept/reject/WL, with the 12/2 being mainly accepts with some reject/WL, and the 12/8 being mainly reject with a couple accepts/WLs.wootwootdc wrote:Are mixed batches even possible/known?
