Re: UCLA?
I'm sure this has been answered before, but if you a reject, you hear ONLY through snail mail, correct?

Thanks. I tried to add in a little note about NU's placement in NY making the debt a little less dangerous rather than being like, "oh, this school is higher ranked."tommytahoe wrote:Yes, just straightforward, honest, professional, and polite. Re: UCLA?
I've been waiting since October without hearing a peep from UCLA. I haven't withdrawn yet because I paid them for an answer, but I think it's about time for me to end this cycle myself. Goodbye and good riddance.

Try asking for a refund and see what happens. That could bring a lighthearted moment to an otherwise frustrating experience.summerschooled wrote:I've been waiting since October without hearing a peep from UCLA. Haha, sounds like a good plan. I'd at least like to hear their reactionprimusux wrote:Try asking for a refund and see what happens. Tape it too so the rest of us can hear it. Just make sure you have beeps at a steady interval since CA is a two party consent state. hehsummerschooled wrote:Haha, sounds like a good plan. Re: UCLA?
Yeah...my mindset (not sure how correct this is)...is that I haven't been waitlisted or accepted by tonight, the rejection letter is probably in the mail. If so, Illinois here I come.

Re: UCLA?
I'm not sure how previous years' cycles will serve as any indication of a pattern, but I remember reading through the waitlist threads from a few years back and read about people complaining that there's waitlist movement when some of the regular applicants hadn't even heard back yet
Not sure if it's a good or bad thing, and I'm not sure what happened to those people...but...I don't imagine UCLA keeps people hanging just for the fun of it. ....I think.
Edit: Last year there were people still waiting on May 20th

Still waiting. Nothing in the mail from UCLA today....could take longer since I'm not in Cali, though.

Re: UCLA?
I talked to someone on the phone friday, and they said they are still admitting students, and that she thinks they are still deciding whether to admit or waitlist me. I was surprised that she said this much, as previously all I was told was that they couldn't tell me anything. Maybe there is reason to hope.

Re: UCLA?
^^ She really said that? Ha. How did you respond? "Great. I sure hope it's an admit! Kthxbye!" That is encouraging, though. I wonder if we can read into why those of us who haven't heard are still waiting. Are they on the fence about all of us? Just haven't had the time to get to that pile of apps? Hmm.jay115 wrote:they're still waitlisting people in may? hasnt that ship already sailed?macaulian wrote:I talked to someone on the phone friday, and they said they are still admitting students, and that she thinks they are still deciding whether to admit or waitlist me.
