Yea scholarships are taking forever. I'm also waiting on them to release more info on ASW. I've called like 3 times and asked if they're offering travel stipends and they keep telling me they haven't made a decision yet. It's next month and I need to make plans DUKE

Seriously. I don't think I want to visit unless I get serious $$$ so I really hope notifications go out before ASW...

I knew that NYU was a better option than UVa/Duke on paper for PI work. But once I found out that 1Ls at the median or a little below were getting summer associateships with V50 firms, I decided I wouldn't wait for Duke on $$$. No real weaknesses at NYU--that makes me feel safe, given my future is totally up in the air.

Waitlisted at Duke. Figured but it was my number one - so kind of disappointed. There goes my sticker priced tuition Duke. You lose 120K +.

Are all of you reporting the waitlistings today actual waitlists or Priority Reserve?

Sadly an actual waitlist, or the waitlist behind the waitlist. Thus why I have no hope with a LOCI

You really think so? I just don't see how half an hour of time spent writing a letter could be a bad thing - you never know. At least then you can say you tried everything.

I think if you look at LSN you'll see that most of the people currently hearing back are <=169.

I wrote a Why Duke.

It was actually the only Why ... letter I wrote, as they were the only school with an very specific program I wanted to do that took Why ... letters (Cornell does not do Why letters).

oo Nice they are making monetary decisions. Scholarships can't be that much longer then. Did she tell you of the process to apply for the stipend?

I asked in an email about whether or not they have a program to put up prospectives in current law students extra bedrooms etc (like Berkeley) because I'd like to save money when going on these visits and Duke responded they didn't have anything like that, but then informed me they just had the travel stipend approved to mitigate some of the cost. Its for all admits and everyone who has been accepted should be getting the details soon

Hm thanks for the info. Last year they offered $250, this is considerably less. Not sure if I'll visit now..

I can get there and stay all weekend for $400, so $150 is not too bad of a deal. I'm exicted to book a trip, but I would rather go when there isn't the big to-do going on. Think they will pay even if you don't visit on the ASW?

UR since 11/24. Nothing. I think they're really pushing hard to get their numbers up and I expect they'll be getting turned down for HYS etc. in the next few weeks and then us second stringers may hear.
