For anyone who did an alumni interview, how long does it typically take for the alum to contact you for the interview? I'm trying to get an idea of when I could expect to hear something. Also, how long after the interview was your decision made?

Mine took closer to a week to hear something. After the interview, it took about a month to get a decision.

For admitted students, what's the consensus on merit scholarships? Is there a form to fill out/a process to go through or do we just find out when they decide to award it?

We had a pretty long discussion about this over in the Class of 2019 thread, it'll be more informative than any single post in response to yours.

App complete in early Jan, group interviewed 2/15 (exactly two weeks ago), and still waiting as well (no updates from ASW). Don't worry guys, we're in this together.

Invited to alumni interview last Friday, got a call from a number with a semi-local area code this AM, but no voicemail. Called back and no one picked up....

The wait continues :|

Those who participated in the alum interview and were offered admission, mind sharing your stats/ waiting time? PM if you feel generous

Took me about a month for a decision, but some people hear back sooner. It all depends, only Georgetown knows when you'll get a response :D

When did you interview, and when did you hear back? Also, would you mind sharing your stats (By PM if that's more comfortable)?

EDIT: Also, what was the time difference between you getting into the ASW and getting your letter (If you tried to get into the ASW before getting the letter)?

What were everyone's experiences with the alumni interview? Mine was so short I'm wondering how it would even be useful in the decision making process. I mean, it went alright, but it just seemed so superficial. She asked me 2 questions about my resume, she asked me why law, why georgetown, do I have any questions for her, and that was it. Over in like 7 minutes. I mean, I feel like I did fine on the questions she asked, but I felt like I didn't really get a chance to show her much.

I think my recommendations are excellent and my PS and other optional essays were all excellent, but my scores were borderline, so I was hoping that the interview would give me an opportunity to really stand out, and I don't know if it did because she just didn't ask me much. Meh.

same here in that I didn't really get asked a lot of questions. however, mine lasted a little over 30 minutes because the alum talked so much about his own experience.

Mine lasted over an hour, multiple follow-ups on each question and got into minutiae including how I expected to see a return on investment with law school.

Seriously though, Georgetown interview was my easiest and most relaxed interview this cycle and I think most agree with that sentiment.

Yup. about a month ago.

I'm guessing you don't know about the PILS timing?

I applied to GULC binding, but am now considering withdrawing. As much as I'd love to attend the university, I don't know that I would receive a good enough offer that would warrant turning down other options I currently have.

In a weird way I wish they would just defer me to regular admission.

Just ask to switch your app to RD and if they say no, withdraw.

Hello everyone,

I am an international applicant. Do you think I would have a chance of getting in if I apply now (on the last day of the deadline) ?
LSAT 167 and GPA 3.65

Did not consider applying before, but now I think I could have applied to more schools.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
