I think it is supposed to, but I haven't gotten mail in days. I got the followup email with an attached version of the sent letter.

I got in 12/18 and just got my Vandy letter yesterday. It was separate from my acceptance package/pizza box which came way back in December, and like Joe I got a follow-up email with the letter attached (except I got the email before the mailed letter and didn't see the attachment, so for like 20 minutes I had no idea what was going on and thought they sent the email to the wrong person )

I've been UR since 12/24 -- what it probably means is that they're waiting for a better sense of the applicant pool before they make a decision.

I JUST got a ding email. Submitted early Dec., went complete 12/3, had UR2 12/28, and I just got the ding email today. (My status checker still says under review, 12/28.) 165/4.0

btw, what is Vandy? I always thought it was the full ride for JD. But I just checked the website, and it seems to be the full ride for LLM.

There's no JD scholarship named Vanderbilt:

Sorry to hear that...I thought that NYU mailed rejections too?

First of all, thanks to you all for your kind words! Rejection stings a bit.

Secondly, though, I hope they won't compound the pain by also sending a snail mail rejection! All I can attest to at this time is that the email seemed very real...is real.

Thirdly, for a mini rant, I realized recently that my 4.0 GPA from a foreign institution can't be reported by the schools (i.e. it doesn't help them with their own rankings). I always hoped I could 'offer' my 4.0 to off-set the 165, which is obviously not so bueno for the T14, but this seems to be a no-go. Having a 3.89 Ivy master's doesn't seem to help the cause either, since graduate degree GPAs are not reportable either. Somebody like me, please! Rant over. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!
