wow. that's crazy. they're probably looking at your stats and thinking "she/he is already made up her mind on Columbia so why waste time?"
I wonder why my borderline stats have taken ~5 months especially when so many others around the same time frame have gotten decisions.
Hoping at least to hear before the 15th so I don't pay a first deposit somewhere else (SC being my #1 choice)

Has anyone had success negotiating their scholarship up with offers from Michigan, Duke, Vandy, or Minnesota?

Current 1L will take a few questions on the experience, if anyone is interested.

Ok so the Dean said she'd have a decision for me "in a week or so" 3 weeks ago.
Any polite way to ask about my status? Or will it come off as too pushy given how busy they are at the moment?

Are you planning on going to Law Day if admitted before that? Maybe use that as a way of asking, if you do?

Yeah I'd definitely attend the Law Day if I got in...
So shoot her an email expressing interest in the Law Day and ask about the status of my app?
I'm immensely baffled how its taken so long, seems like I'm the only one still waiting after going complete in November.

I'm really surprised too, its getting down to the wire and someone submitting that long ago should have an answer by now. That's probably what I would do if I was dying to know. I'd just say that you know registration for law day is open and since your app is still pending, you wanted to know if you would have enough time to RSVP and attend if admitted since USC is your top choice yada yada yada.

I found that in terms of total people on facebook and the total people who have committed to attend already is higher than last year at this time. Go figure.

Just put down my deposit

. Going to The admitted student tour day last week sold me. Loved Dean Altman's class. Any current students lurking in this thread able to comment on if he stands out from the others or if he is a typical teacher there? Either way, I absolutely loved his style and want him as my professor.
Edit: it sucks typing on this thing. I give up.

You were in my class! Altman is a typical upper-level/1.5L professor. Your first semester professors will be different--harder because they want to experience the socratic method. You can DM me for a more thorough answer. Welcome to the Trojan Network! Fight On!
