Congratulations on your admission to Columbia Law School. Recently it has come to our attention that the login information for the Admitted Student Website has been made public. Therefore, we changed the passcode to limit access to admitted students only.
Please use the information listed below to access the site:
But I had never gotten an email offering me admission? My status checker page still lists me as "Complete" but no decision made...
It means your in. Unless you're international, acceptances come by mail. Your mail is probably just slow. Congrats!
This may take some time to sink in. What a strange way to get accepted.

I was also able to now do the Voldemort thing with the new password so I'm definitely in too. My mailbox is set up in a horrible way that my mail has been lost before so maybe that's the reason for no VCE.
I guess give it a couple more days and then just contact them and let them know. Either way, congrats!!
I don't know what the Voldemort thing is (was?) but I got the email and was confused, because being admitted was news to me! I'm East Coast/New England to be specific, so theoretically I should have gotten my VCE if it were sent... Granted, I also changed my address to home in hopes of getting the letter over break, then felt too embarrassed to switch back to my school address. And to top it all off, my parents moved, so basically, I have no idea where that letter is...
You should switch it back again! There’s probably some important information in there

. I wouldn’t be embarrassed about it. Also, congrats!
Haha, thanks! I'm going to give the mail a few more days, and then probably call admissions to ask them to resend it to my school address.

Hahaha yeah, I think they were trying to time the emails so you would get them after your acceptance letter, but the mail is so unpredictable that it's not working out very well. I got my letter on the 26th and got the password email this afternoon. You'll probably be getting a letter soon

Hell, I may have gotten my letter a few days ago, I just don't check my mail regularly since its ALL THE WAY across my apartment complex. /lazyshame
I had already bought plane tickets for the NYU ASW that week but if Columbia is paying me to go, I'll attend theirs instead, and just be a few hours late to festivities on Wednesday then. It'll be nice to get out of Texas and into civilization for a few days.

Outside of the people who received that email with the new admitted students website before their VCE, I don't think so.
No VCE here today either, on the bright side I'm not anxiously hoping for one these days, so checking the mail is less of an adventure haha.

Finally got a VCE today on the West Coast, postmarked the 24th! Voldemort trick was successful, my numbers are pretty borderline for CCN, and I got two ASW emails from them this afternoon.

I wouldn't be too sure. It seems (well, makes sense) that they'd try to time their ASW emails with when they think your VCE would arrive by. I'm East Coast, and I got my email yesterday (but no letter), so if you're further away, they might be waiting to send you the email?

Possible. I'm on the West Coast my VCE was dated 01/24 and I didn't get the email till today. Even though due to a USPS miracle I got my VCE on the 26th.

I dont have regular/unfettered access to internet (Afghanistan). Can someone sum up what's going on with CLS? Bunch of acceptances with handful of rejects? What are we looking at here? I dont have time to read a lot of interwebbingz.
WTF is VCE?
Thanks!

Summary: It sounds like the acceptances have been rolling out since 1/24, with a bunch of new ones every day. People have also been getting acceptance emails with login info, some even before they get acceptance letters snailmail. No rejections yet except among EDers (someone correct me if I'm wrong.) VCE is the big, vomit-colored envelope that Columbia sends to admitted students.
On a personal note, I've heard only crickets from Columbia. However, last night I had a dream that I received a big acceptance envelope in the mail, except it was light blue with white puffy clouds on it rather than vomit-colored.

Haha, I like your Columbia accept envelopes better!

FWIW, schools supposedly do this towards the end of the cycle to up their application #s. Idk your numbers or softs so it might be worth applying, but if you're a huge longshot you might save yourself the $16. good luck either way!
