UF's class size for all 3 years right now is 300 and should stay there for the forseeable future.

Re: U. of Florida 2010-2011 Applicants!!
We just passed the deadline I find it hard to believe they'd put together large waitlist numbers two days after, where they have the option of continuing to hold longer to compare. I know several people who have put in their apps within the last 3 weeks. Also there's a 165 3.6 in this batch I find it very hard to believe that person will not be accepted. I also see it as a good sign that there apparently hasn't been an acceptance batch in the last few weeks.ManageDamage wrote:http://online.wsj.com/article_email/SB1 ... DYyWj.html
^Even though it's a bad article to read before going to law school, does make sense that maybe a school like UF will be accepting more individuals this year since the amount of people applying is down? I'm grasping at straws.

and also dont forget the 160/3.90 and 161/3.74 (just incase they putting heavy emphasis on gpa)....but yea very good point, i want to say the last batch of anything (correct me if im wrong) was 2/28 accepts and 3/3 denied...after their "comparing" past the 3/15 deadline it would be hard for me to belive they'd reject more/waitlist before putting in a few more acceptances, since i feel they understand seat deposit deadlines from all schools are coming up sepcifically FSU at april 1st. OR maybe indeed they're just evil people playing with our waiting emotions lol

Ya, I'm feeling pretty good, I also feel with FSU being right on their heels and seemingly giving better cost options that might help divert some people toward there that would otherwise choose UF. Knowing most people are procrastinators, I feel like they wouldn't be pretty much full at this point and there is no way they've been able to compare all the 3/17 people to all the people who applied really late, which once again I imagine would be large due to most people's tendencies to procrastinate. Also, I happen to personally know several people who are applying with February LSAT scores which weren't reported until the 2nd if I remember correctly, so having a report filed/mailed and processed to UF would've just made the deadline if not passed it (know someone who this happened to). Also it would be pretty cruel/unprofessional for the woman to have laughed at your question when you called in if she knew the batch wasn't acceptances.FortuneFavorsTheBold wrote:and also dont forget the 160/3.90 and 161/3.74 (just incase they putting heavy emphasis on gpa)....but yea very good point, i want to say the last batch of anything (correct me if im wrong) was 2/28 accepts and 3/3 denied...after their "comparing" past the 3/15 deadline it would be hard for me to belive they'd reject more/waitlist before putting in a few more acceptances, since i feel they understand seat deposit deadlines from all schools are coming up sepcifically FSU at april 1st. That was two years ago. With the incoming 1L class we'll have 300 each 1L, 2L, and 3L. From what I understand they won't be cutting it any further, at least not for some time.FeelTheHeat wrote:UF dropped enrollment from 400 to 300 IIRC, and will go down again next year.

I believe you are correct, also everyone should keep in mind that's not how many acceptances, they could potentially give up to 3x as many acceptances as that(seems to be the usual multiplier). All schools expect a good deal to go elsewhere/withdraw.Moose Thompson wrote:That was two years ago. With the incoming 1L class we'll have 300 each 1L, 2L, and 3L. Hmm...an "I know something you don't laugh"...interesting...
I'm really trying not to get TOO excited about receiving my letter, because I don't want to be excessively disappointed when I get a WL or Rejection...
Odds of getting mine tomorrow should be decently high imo...I live in orlando...

Also, the office didn't say which type of Aid was being sent out yesterday(Monday), they just said it was happening.

I'm in your batch and my numbers are 159/3.4. :/ I know everyone says it, but my softs are supposedly pretty great according to people I've talked to. I don't really know how much that plays into it. I'm thinking it is going to be a mixed batch of acceptances and waitlists. I just don't see myself getting accepted no problem.FortuneFavorsTheBold wrote:and also dont forget the 160/3.90 and 161/3.74 (just incase they putting heavy emphasis on gpa)....but yea very good point, i want to say the last batch of anything (correct me if im wrong) was 2/28 accepts and 3/3 denied...after their "comparing" past the 3/15 deadline it would be hard for me to belive they'd reject more/waitlist before putting in a few more acceptances, since i feel they understand seat deposit deadlines from all schools are coming up sepcifically FSU at april 1st. Do you plan on living in SoFla? If you do Nova is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I work at a top ten law firm in SoFla and we have A FEW Nova grads. One of them I know is making over 100k and she's on her third year out of school I think. Only thing with Nova is I wouldn't pay for it. With your numbers all you have to do is send them an email saying you want a full ride. They'll give it to you. I doubt they'll even argue. Tell them you got accepted to higher ranked schools and want to go to Nova but cannot afford the tuition (even with the scholarship). This is amazing http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 22&t=79373 for writing scholarship negotiations. My next door neighbor is a professor at Nova and he's been trying to convince me to go there and has assured me that with my numbers (which are lower than yours) I could get a full ride with books paid for too at Nova. If you want to leave the Broward/Dade market, then I'm not too sure how great a degree from Nova would be.ManageDamage wrote:Can someone tell me why Nova is so hated on? There are a lot of sitting Judges that went to Nova in the county I live in, Nova grads are represented in firms such as Holland & Knight.
Also there is always to option to work my ass off at Nova for a year and trying to transfer to UF/FSU right?

Status changed from reviewed since 12/1 to Letter Issued. I feel as though they have now received all the apps and they are certain they can reject me. Ah well at least no more waiting.

Status changed today from "file reviewed-no decision reached" to "letter in transit, 5-10 for receipt" I think I'm going to have an anxiety attack! hahaha

No I checked it yesterday and it was File in Review. It was definitely changed today. I'm guessing this is a new batch.

Seriously. I know. My application was complete on 11/1, File Reviewed, No Decision Reached since 12/1 and Letter Issued 3/22.
Not sure what this means, but, regardless, happy to know, the wait has been excruciating. If I get in, will likely attend, if not, Utah it is. If anyone who got Letter Issued today is wondering what batch they're in, my lsat is 161 and my gpa is less-than-stellar. But, I'm non-trad, have been out of school forever, and have unique softs.

Waiting on the letter from 3/17. Mail came today and was full of junk.
Hopefully it'll be here tomorrow! Also, I'm in south Florida.
