Status checker still shows an update on 3/14 yet no notification of a letter sent, no e-mail, and no phone call as of 3/18.

HERetICal - what time are you arriving?
Are we still planning on getting drinks post coffee? And anyone know where we are supposed to meet for the "coffee and conversation?"

Arriving around 4-4:30 p.m. Driving down. No clue on the coffee location (I think they'll let us know/have transport to it)
Let's play it by ear. I got your #, you got mine, Maillot Jaune also has mine.
5 o'clock somewhere, pre-coffee, meet and greet for TLS sound good?

So I have been absent from TLS for a couple days, would someone mind PMing me details of the friday meet up? Are we all just going to meet at a central location at 5 or call each other and work that out once we get there?

Also one more thought that just occured to me, and sorry if this has already been discussed, but is anyone planning on taking a look at housing on either Friday or Sunday? Seems like it would be a good chance to do so if we have the time.

+1 getting in around noon on Friday, was thinking about checking some places out...though I have a feeling finding a place to watch hoops will win out for me.Rowinguy2009 wrote:Also one more thought that just occured to me, and sorry if this has already been discussed, but is anyone planning on taking a look at housing on either Friday or Sunday? I will also be getting into town on Friday. And I second the notion that "beer and basketball" sounds 37453487645 times better than "coffee and conversation." That being said, I may try to do a little of both.
The game with which I'm concerned starts at 9:40 tomorrow, so I called around to find a place that is open late. The Palms will be showing the tourney games and is open until 1, in case anyone else is hoping to watching late night bball.
GO TERPS.

I visited the school recently and did the tour/class sit-in. Now I almost wish I had waited for the ASD, although it doesn't seem like you guys are going to get to see a legit class. I really liked the school though, and am comfortable with the smallness of the town and everything, since I grew up in a small town. The law building is very secluded, there's just a football field and what I think are graduate student apartments nearby. The campus is very pretty and I'm sure even more so when the leaves are out. This picture I took sort of shows how secluded the law building is:

I the class I sat in on (administrative law) the professor basically chose two students to call on the whole class. He seemed like a great professor though.

I wonder if I can negotiate a stipulation in my scholarship that allows me to drive that pick-up to class everyday and park it right there.Doodsmack wrote:I visited the school recently and did the tour/class sit-in. Anyone planning on doing something Saturday night or Sunday? I probably won't be getting in until 5 or after tomorrow, but still want a chance to explore the town.

Finally booked our flights, getting into DC around 4:30 tomorrow then driving to W&L. If that time line fits in with any of the meet-ups happening PM me

Has anyone else on the waitlist sent in an LOCI? Would you recommend it? W&L is one of my top choices and I want to express that to them, but I don't want to make a negative impression!

W&L's admissions office is really personable. I would think they would welcome a LOCI, and if you are really serious I would consider setting up a visit.akili wrote:Has anyone else on the waitlist sent in an LOCI? Would you recommend it? I really want to visit, but plane tickets are so expensive. I live in Eastern Washington and it's expensive to fly anywhere.jaxangler wrote:W&L's admissions office is really personable. Re: Washington and Lee
That is definitely a predicament. I would feel free to write a LOCI explaining to them that they are at the top of your list, as well as why. It certainly wont hurt.akili wrote:I really want to visit, but plane tickets are so expensive. Is anyone else getting 8+ emails from Brett about this weekend in the past hour or so?

Re: Washington and Lee
To those who were awarded $cholarships, how quickly did W&L notify you of the award? I was accepted to the school via email on March 9, and was told recipients of merit awards would be notified by separate email. Obviously I haven't received said email, so am I SOL in regards to a scholarship? Or have they just not made the decision yet?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
