Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Yeah, receiving calls from faculty/students doesn't mean anything, especially wrt named scholarships since those committees operate in a vacuum and really aren't going to spend the time reaching out to sell prospective students who they aren't 100% sure they're offering an interview to this coming March.
Also, I wouldn't worry about bringing your parents to ASW. It literally doesn't matter what some random NYU 0L or current student thinks about you ever (although I personally would think it's unseemly).

No call, but just checked my status and saw decision letter sent. Was able to log into the admitted students website. Pretty dazed right now.

Thank you! No email, but I think it's because I went complete on 1/8 as I applied fairly late. UR1 on 1/8, UR2 on 2/9.pittsburghpirates wrote:Mind if I ask if you got the email last week? Just saw DLS and was able to log into the admitted students website. Submitted 1/11, UR1 1/12, UR2 2/9. Literally screamed in the coffee shop I'm in right now. I'm from NYC, and I love the idea of NYU so much. Freaking out!!!

I actually don't remember when I went under review initially, but I submitted on 1/16 and went complete 1/28. The second under review was 2/11 for me. Sorry :/ Good luck if you're waiting! Hopefully you're going to hear back soon!Purplepen wrote:If I may ask, when did you go under review? And congrats!madoodle16 wrote:Got in today via phone call! Congratulations to everyone who received an acceptance call recently! I got in last week via call and received my official acceptance letter in the mail today. Stats: GPA > 75th; LSAT > 75th.
The packet had two documents: one offering congratulations and another with deposit information. Since they didn't send any scholarship information in the packet, is it safe to conclude they aren't going to offer me a scholarship? Or does NYU offer them separately as well?

I was admitted to NYU 1/25 but didn't receive notice about the Vanderbuilt scholarship until last week, so I think they do it separately. Congrats on your acceptance!mjsjr wrote:Congratulations to everyone who received an acceptance call recently! I got in last week via call and received my official acceptance letter in the mail today. Just got my acceptance letter in the mail today (together with the deposit information). Attached to the letter was a handwritten post it note from the Associate Dean of Admissions.
Was wondering if this was part of everyones' packet? Or should I take it as a good sign?

Everyone seems to get it. It must be tiring writing all of those semi-personal notes.sgtous wrote:Just got my acceptance letter in the mail today (together with the deposit information). Attached to the letter was a handwritten post it note from the Associate Dean of Admissions.
