Initially read this as "something something Cat Sticker."smccgrey wrote:I'm really concerned that no one is answering using my very accurate scale of 1-GULCatSticker
Honestly grey, I don't expect that you'll have to pay sticker at GULC. Especially if you're considering retaking in Feb for that 175+ that you deserve. If it's impossible for you to get another LoR, I still think you'll be alright.

What's really important to addcoms though, aside from the all-important GPA/LSAT numbers, is your shoe size and the distance between your left knee and right shoulder.smccgrey wrote:lol I just assume everyone lurks enough to know my entire life story, including current age, weight, and marital status. GPA is 3.15, LSAT 171, GULC is my top choice, sticker is not my top choice, obviously.
Speaking of, anybody down to give my resume a look-see?

Not GULC's average, but your undergrad's average. A 3.7 from a school that averages 3.9 isn't great (oh how grade inflation has taken off, but that's for another rant). Context is everything and it's something I despaired at looking at the school's GPA medians b/c although I was one of the highest GPA's my year at my undergrad I've only got 3.8.smccgrey wrote:lol I just assume everyone lurks enough to know my entire life story, including current age, weight, and marital status. I don't think your UG school's average really matters in the grand scheme of things, unfortunately. Sure, it's a helpful reference, but the LSDAS GPA is what gets reported and affects the law school's ranking, so that's ultimately what they care about.smccgrey wrote:That doesn't matter at all, I thought?antiworldly wrote: Not GULC's average, but your undergrad's average. If it does, my UG school's average is 3.3 - I still suck.

Grey why is your GPA getting reported? I thought only US GPAs were reportable and internationals had to use the Average/Above Average/Etc scale.

Ah that sucks. Like others have said, though, your LSAT is good now and it'll be ridiculous after you retake for $$$. I know you're gunning for GULC, but will you blanket the T14?smccgrey wrote:That's only outside of North America.HRomanus wrote:Grey why is your GPA getting reported? My LSDAS GPA is exactly the same as my GPA from my school (sadly).

Guys, I'm really, really struggling with my personal statement - just like I did last year. It's so hard to read so many great statements out there and it puts the pressure on to be just as good. But I'm not as strong a writer as a lot of people - particularly in this genre - and I just need to get something in before Thanksgiving. I need a really safe PS. I feel like I'm trying to be a superstar Tom Brady when I should be a game manager like Austin Davis.

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
i went to an info sesh with dean cornblatt a while back and he said if youre at least 3 years out he doesnt really care about not having an academic rec but if youre less than 3 years out it raises a red flag. i think youll be finesmccgrey wrote:3 years.schmelling wrote:How long have you been out of school?smccgrey wrote:So I'm thisclose to giving up on having a single Academic LOR in my app. How badly will this fuck me over?
I can apply to GWU, NU (and of course, my one true love, GULC) with just the one from my boss. It should be a good one - particularly since I'm helping him write it. My concern is that not having an academic one will really hurt me, and given what an absolute shitshow my GPA is, I need all the help I can get.
On a scale of one to GULC-at-sticker, how fucked am I?

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Hey guys and gals! I've been working with LST for the past year, and I'm managing the group of volunteers that are entering tons of valuable data for LST. I know many of us have relied on LST in the past, and will continue to do so when it comes to choosing a school. Please volunteer to help input some of this data. I know many of you are bored now that your apps are in, and this would be a great way to take your mind off waiting!

Some schools have an addendum page, and they say you have "two options". One's a diversity and one's for C+F. Where do I put my GPA addendum?

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Quick Q for you all. One of my referees is just not getting back to me. Luckily I do already have two LORs, albeit from European professors who'll say something like "she's ok". The third LOR is from a US professor who I did some post-Uni research work with. I'd definitely like to send it in, but am getting antsy about waiting longer with these applications.
tl;dr: if I have an outstanding LOR, can I send my app in without it and then send it along later?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
