Honestly grey, I don't expect that you'll have to pay sticker at GULC. Especially if you're considering retaking in Feb for that 175+ that you deserve. If it's impossible for you to get another LoR, I still think you'll be alright.

I'd say no academic LOR is a -2 modifier, leaving you with your GPA (contentless without knowing school's average GPA) in the range of 7. Hooray for unreferenced scales!

GPA is 3.15, LSAT 171, GULC is my top choice, sticker is not my top choice, obviously.

What's really important to addcoms though, aside from the all-important GPA/LSAT numbers, is your shoe size and the distance between your left knee and right shoulder.

Not GULC's average, but your undergrad's average. A 3.7 from a school that averages 3.9 isn't great (oh how grade inflation has taken off, but that's for another rant). Context is everything and it's something I despaired at looking at the school's GPA medians b/c although I was one of the highest GPA's my year at my undergrad I've only got 3.8.

I don't think your UG school's average really matters in the grand scheme of things, unfortunately. Sure, it's a helpful reference, but the LSDAS GPA is what gets reported and affects the law school's ranking, so that's ultimately what they care about.

My LSDAS GPA is exactly the same as my GPA from my school (sadly).

Ah that sucks. Like others have said, though, your LSAT is good now and it'll be ridiculous after you retake for $$$. I know you're gunning for GULC, but will you blanket the T14?

Guys, I'm really, really struggling with my personal statement - just like I did last year. It's so hard to read so many great statements out there and it puts the pressure on to be just as good. But I'm not as strong a writer as a lot of people - particularly in this genre - and I just need to get something in before Thanksgiving. I need a really safe PS. I feel like I'm trying to be a superstar Tom Brady when I should be a game manager like Austin Davis.

I can apply to GWU, NU (and of course, my one true love, GULC) with just the one from my boss. It should be a good one - particularly since I'm helping him write it. My concern is that not having an academic one will really hurt me, and given what an absolute shitshow my GPA is, I need all the help I can get.

i went to an info sesh with dean cornblatt a while back and he said if youre at least 3 years out he doesnt really care about not having an academic rec but if youre less than 3 years out it raises a red flag. i think youll be fine

I know many of us have relied on LST in the past, and will continue to do so when it comes to choosing a school. Please volunteer to help input some of this data. I've been putting my UG transcript addendum under C+F is there is no option for unspecified addenda

Quick Q for you all. One of my referees is just not getting back to me. Luckily I do already have two LORs, albeit from European professors who'll say something like "she's ok". The third LOR is from a US professor who I did some post-Uni research work with. I'd definitely like to send it in, but am getting antsy about waiting longer with these applications.

tl;dr: if I have an outstanding LOR, can I send my app in without it and then send it along later?
