I guess I'm one of those few who didn't get admitted after interview.
Just got placed on WL.
Didn't feel too good about the interview. Oh well.

With a 176/3.8, it might be YP. If you really want Chicago, write a solid LOCI. I'll bet you'll find your way to a deeply discounted Hyde Park if that's what you really want.wisteria wrote:I guess I'm one of those few who didn't get admitted after interview.

I thought this was my best interview. And I screwed up an interview at another school similarly ranked and got in with $. Heh.

Thanks. To be honest I wasn't too interested in Chicago because of family reasons. So it doesn't hurt much. It's just that a WL after interview feels a bit personal. I feel like I performed badly or that they hate me for some reason. Haha, never mind, I'm sure I'll get over it soon.cwid1391 wrote:With a 176/3.8, it might be YP. Waitlisted. I think she knew that I would be a WL before even interviewing me because she was so uninterested and bored, so much so I thought she was doing it on purpose. I don't know what else I could have done. I gave it my all. Congrats to everyone that got in and good luck to the rest of us who are still waiting!

In! Now it's time to wait for financial aid info. I have a full ride from Northwestern but if UChicago can come close I would rather go there

Here's to hoping that they're working again this weekend. Maybe some new URs? Please?

To those who got placed on WL:
Have you submitted your loci? In the letter of decision they said "If you wish to remain on our waitlist, no further action is necessary at this time". Does that mean a loci or an updated transcript or sth is unecessary until we are contacted by the admission office?
Just feeling confused and not sure what to do right now.

It's not not "necessary" in the sense that you'll automatically stay on the waitlist unless you ask to be removed.mez4083 wrote:To those who got placed on WL:

But if you want to show you'd be likely to accept their offer off the waitlist, I'd recommend writing the optional LOCI they ask for by April 1st.

Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Congrats to the admits!!! I am really hoping to join your ranks soon.
I do have a quick question, though. I was notified yesterday that I have been recognized as the top student in my department. Chicago's website specifically states "Please do not submit any updates or additional materials after your Online Status Checker indicates that your application is "Complete" unless it relates to the Character and Fitness sections of the application."
I'm torn. Softs such as school awards and extracurricular activities is the weakest part of my application. As a parent I haven't had a bunch of time to do more than schoolwork and familial obligations. A named award from my school, although not huge, bolsters this weak area. However, Chicago says don't do it.
Does anyone have experience with this? My strong inclination is to follow instructions and keep my mouth shut as I am past complete and actually UR1 now. Does anyone have any anecdotal evidence supporting one action over the other?
TL:DR - Do I update my application with someone I feel is significant even though Chicago discourages it? Actual evidence preferred.
