I called about 2 weeks ago and NYU said my app was processing. I have not gotten a complete email from them yet and its been almost a month. On the website it said not to email them about the status of your application. I want to know if I'm complete should I call and has anyone else been waiting for a complete email this long?

Does anyone else who went complete on 1/26 have any idea when we might expect to hear back?

First acceptances will be sent out some time this week (historically Tuesday or Wednesday). More acceptances will come in later weeks for candidates with numbers that are not auto-admit. First rejections probably won't come until March.

It was about a month after I applied that I got a complete email (and I eventually got in). Nothing to worry about.

Anybody in Southern California get the email this morning about the alumni/admitted students' event in Beverly Hills?

I got the email a week or two ago. Sounds like a good event. I'm already RSVP'd.

I just got my fall grades into LSAC, so no telling how long it will take NYU to get them and then make a decision. I wouldn't expect to hear anything this month.

Have tried looking through the thread and given up. My brain is exploding- I submitted on 1/7, got notice of receipt 1/12, and still no complete email or status checker- is this normal?

Yes. There's no status checker, and NYU often misses people with their complete e-mails. Presumably, you went complete on 1/20 along the rest of the 1/12-received crowd.

Thanks again for this. For anyone else worried about this, I called today and this is exactly what happened. They confirmed that I'm complete but didn't say when.

I don't know. You got into Berkeley with a strong LSAT and sub 25th GPA, which I would assume is much more of an uphill battle than NYU. Good luck, either way.

P.S. in some thread I think someone posted that NYU accepted almost every 172 / 3.6 candidate last cycle. Aren't you right around there?

I didn't do anything special...I just am special.














But in all seriousness...I added a Berk-specific section to my PS (although this is not necessary and many don't do this) and I had my LOR writers do a Berk-tailored letter (which I imagine also isn't that big of a deal). I guess I made it obvious that I really love the school.

In general, though, I worked really, really hard on my PS and put it through many drafts over many months. I'm pretty confident that this has been a big part of bringing a cycle which has fared better than the odds had predicted.

EDIT: But I still anticipate an NYU ding.

Hrmm, it would be interesting to see if that's the case. I applied for one, and just got fall grade request last week. Anyone who applied to these programs received a (quick) response?
