He may be referring to McDonald v. Chicago, the Supreme Court case that overruled Chicago's universal handgun ban. Chicago was (and still is) known as having some of the toughest handgun laws in the nation.

UChicago is also located in the South Side of Chicago an area notorious for its gun crime. Dude's just tryna protect himself, haha.

I don't know if I should submit additional material or not. I'm in at Berkeley, and I think they might have a better quality of life....
does anyone know the likelihood of getting off the waitlist?

I interviewed several weeks ago (right after the last day before this one that people got admissions/waitlists from U of C) and got no decision today (at least, not yet). Anyone else in the same boat?

Grateful to receive the admittance email just now.
Stats in profile -- late January complete, interview mid-February. Went UR four times, including today.
