Do people leverage HYS acceptances to negotiate more money out of, e.g., CLS and NYU? Or do you need a scholarship offer from somewhere else in order to leverage (more) money from another school? And re the latter, does it have to be a comparably ranked school (e.g., would scholly money from Duke persuade CLS to offer [more] money, or are they mainly trying to beat offers from competitors like NYU and Chicago?)?

It's always worth a try to add in a YHS acceptance to your letter. I don't think anyone really knows how much that helps though. My guess is that you'd be best off showing them offers from the same tier of schools, or high values at the tier just below (MVP).

I definitely suggest waiting for money from chi and nyu if that's relevant to your cycle

No vomit in the mail today. Looks like I'll just have to buckle in for the next wave.

Same boat here on submit date. Still waiting--Midwest, small town. Giving it until tomorrow...

Noticed a few people with stats similar to my own receiving decisions in late March/early April. It was pretty encouraging... But now I know I'm in for the long haul... Good luck everyone!

Someone on LSN got into Columbia with really good (but closer to human) stats.

*Disproportionate excitement ensues*

I still haven't. And the Voldemort trick worked for me, so I've been expecting (that is to say, hoping for) it since like Thursday. This is getting infuriating.

Soon, I think.

On a side note, a managed to break into my locked mail-box-prison to fish out a large envelope! I thought it was maybe a Columbia WL/ding or at least from another school. Turns out, it was only my UG diploma. Useless.

 Am I the only one who found that hilarious?

ETA: I am eagerly awaiting finding out whether I am doomed to a straight-up rejection or a WL. Do they send those in slightly lighter shades of vomit?

Haha, I found it funny as well. Speaking of funny and you, your THIS IS MY WORST FEAR comment on the tech dean answering questions thread made me lol bc it's the story of my life.

I think the rejects come in small white envelopes, and waitlists come via email? not positive.

To be fair, what exactly is the use of an UG diploma? My employer wanted a copy, but I convinced him to take a copy of my unofficial transcript instead. I just highlighted the part where it said how many credits I had earned. Worked out perfectly.

Did anyone else get in today via email and have yet to receive a VCE? I'm really confused especially because I'm in PA.

Also: I was not able to Voldemort and was asked for my fall grades.

Does the online status checker for Columbia ever say anything other than "Complete?" I know they don't notify you of the decision online, but is there a cryptic "Decision Rendered" type of status update on the web?

I assume he's probably talking about the email they sent out with the new password for the ASW after they had to reset it. It seems like they timed them to arrive after your VCE would have gotten there provided it wasn't lost in the mail.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
