I'm still pending review/decision from 1/6! Where is my decision? I'm really surprised I haven't been wait-listed with everyone else...

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
You'd think that with the ASW weekends coming up that UVA would be extending offers to people who they want to (a) lure to ASW in order to (b) show that good weather/fun atmosphere may be worth more than CCN....
this intense string of WLs is confusing for this reason.

Yeah, I just checked my status checker, and it says Waitlist, Pending Final Decision 2/22/2011, but I have not received an email yet.The Stig wrote:Did anyone get the WL via status checker but not get an actual email? I'm waiting to withdraw until I get the confirmation...

You're preaching to the choir, dude. I got a UVa fee waiver and was promptly rejected (outright) six weeks later. I got a pretty sweet scholarship at W&M so it's not like my numbers were bad at all...albanach wrote:Ah, my apologies.msridiculous447 wrote: I know the deal; I'm going through the exact same admissions process that you are. I didn't update from "File Complete, Pending Review/Decision" but the date did change from 02/03/2011 to 02/22/2011. Am I headed for a WL or am I still in the running ? I'm losing faith in UVA.

It's weird how UVA works -- I had to beg (sort of) for a fee waiver. LOL

Well if it is anything like last year, there should be a large wave of rejections and WLs in the next week.

Yeah I did some LSN stalking and things weren't looking good for me (Nov. applicant) so I got out before the massive March WL wave. Hopefully a few of you will make it out alive.

has anyone sent a Why UVA or a LOCI via email? I sent one at the beginning of the week and never got confirmation, is that normal?

I think so--I didn't hear from them after I sent my LOCI via email until the admissions call. It might not be a bad idea to call them and check that it went into your file.waitlisteddd wrote:has anyone sent a Why UVA or a LOCI via email? Re: UVa. Regular Decision
Instead of misleading fee waivers, bribes to boost reputation scores would probably yield a lot more bang for the buck. And be just as ethical as the employment statistics most schools report.paulinaporizkova wrote:a variety of decent reasons. unfortunately, schools (all schools, not just this one) have come up with ethically questionable loopholes to boost selectivity and yield. it's the nature of the beast, and yes, it is an offshoot of USNWR rankingsalbanach wrote:Ah, my apologies.msridiculous447 wrote: I know the deal; I'm going through the exact same admissions process that you are.
