Yes, it does "Under Committee Review."groundkontrol wrote:Just checking this thread for the first time. I've been at "Complete" since 12/5, and I emailed them to hold my application until my December LSAT scores arrived. Does Penn do an "Under Review" like other schools?

Haha thanks. I've been reading the boards for the past couple of days and thought I should start contributing to the general knowledge I was taking advantage of.

Do they frequently request fall grades? Only for borderline candidates?owhlcn wrote:who in this thread is still UCR from Nov/Dec and hasn't heard anything? no fall grade requests, no acceptance/denial/waitlist, anything? i know there's a few more out there...

shameless self-promotion: I tried to start a Penn WL thread earlier that didn't take off... a.) possibly cause not enough people had been WL'ed yet, or b.) possibly cause I just suck at life (Penn sure seems to think so).

They don't think you suck at life or else they would have rejected you already. They probably think you marginally suck with a chance of improvement.parker09 wrote:shameless self-promotion: I tried to start a Penn WL thread earlier that didn't take off... a.) possibly cause not enough people had been WL'ed yet, or b.) possibly cause I just suck at life (Penn sure seems to think so).

Yea it looks like maybe a lot of from the the poorly or average ranked undergrads may have been shut out. I get it on one level, but on another level my 3.65 comes from an undergrad where median grade is still floating around 2.9 or 3.0 so there's not as much grade inflation. Oh well . . . at least I'm in at Michigan.

Just updated my file with a new essay after being held yesterday. I hope they show the same promptness in reversing their decision and accepting me.

166/3.67 URM non-trad--also from an "ordinary" public school. Do you guys/gals really think that they are pulling that elitist crap?
Oh well, at least I'm in @ NYU.

I went to a top-5 liberal arts college and was denied. It probably had something to do with my below median stats.

Yeah--Penn was a reach for me, so I'm not overly stunned. I was just hoping that Penn wasn't "like that," when it came to picking people. It's so 1950s

Very convenient that they happen to have an info session one of the days I'll be there. Woot.
