Is Dean Hoye the interviewer for the financial aid interview?jmj2254 wrote:laurelcastillo wrote:During the scholarship interview, is it okay to bring up a substantial scholarship offer from another (equally ranked) school? Just not sure what the scholarship interview is supposed to entail on my part and what I'm supposed to say. Thanks!
I had mine today. It's super conversational: why law now, goals in law school/ideal law experience, plans for your JD, any need information you want to add, any questions you have. Dean Hoye was pretty open about their process and their process compared to other schools.

I don't recall anyone this late who is applying via PT get their decision in under 10 days. You know what the time frame is, no need to stress yourself further.madoodle16 wrote:PT under review since 1/29. I'm starting to obsessively refresh now status checker

This. You are going to get your decision on the 10th day, and it will likely come in the late afternoon/evening.lymenheimer wrote:I don't recall anyone this late who is applying via PT get their decision in under 10 days. Hey guys
PT here checking in. I Just went complete today after being on hold for a month waiting for a final letter. I have had some developments that would look OK on a resume. Is it too early to write a LOCI, or should I wait for that in case I get wait listed?

Just wait, unless it's something significant that may get you a Mordecai invite. If you're PT, it's very likely that you will get in any way.lawyersHATEhim wrote:Hey guys

Am I correct that I don't need to send income verification (W-2s, tax records, etc) to Duke as supplemental docs to my Need Access app? I remember my undergrad required those, but I didn't see anywhere that Duke requires them, so just checking.

Got put on priority reserve. What is priority reserve? Like a first-choice waitlist? What are the chances of getting off of it? Gonna go do some digging in older threads....

Correct. I don't know how common of a practice it is to ask for verification, but I don't think Duke [Law] is one of those schools.strawberrieee wrote:Am I correct that I don't need to send income verification (W-2s, tax records, etc) to Duke as supplemental docs to my Need Access app? It's exactly that. You're likely to be one of the first chosen off the waitlist.redfred22 wrote:Got put on priority reserve. What is priority reserve? Like a first-choice waitlist? What are the chances of getting off of it? Gonna go do some digging in older threads....

Lurker here. My PT app went complete on 1/21, and the math I've done countless times tells me the tenth day was yesterday, Feb 4. I spent all day stressing and still haven't received anything, I'm also still UR2. Has this happened to anybody else?

I'm not going to bother checking the math, but Duke seems to follow the 10 day rule exactly, even working on weekends and at night to get acceptances out on time.BruiseWillis wrote:Lurker here. You should have received an e-mail from Duke when your application was complete and submitted for review. Go find that e-mail and count to ten starting from the day after the e-mail was sent.lymenheimer wrote:21+10 =/= 04BruiseWillis wrote:Lurker here. Lol at "checking the math"...It's plus 10, man. haha. Anyways, if what this guy is saying is true, then we appear to have our first 10+ day PT decision. Did you register for the Feb LSAT or anything? I wanna say some folks were asked for a transcript update. Check your spam for that?RZ5646 wrote:I'm not going to bother checking the math, but Duke seems to follow the 10 day rule exactly, even working on weekends and at night to get acceptances out on time.BruiseWillis wrote:Lurker here. Re: Duke University School of Law C/O 2019 Applicants
I went complete 11/18 and then UR1 12/8. However I did kind of harass admissions for awhile which forced them to look at my application (possibly earlier than they had wanted to). As such, I wouldn't recommend looking at my UR1 date as the model time frame. Also if you applied in Jan. you may be waiting a little bit longer due to admissions being swamped with applications from months before.JuliusCaesar wrote:How long before you went ur1? Re: Duke University School of Law C/O 2019 Applicants
One of Duke's decision options is "held for further review," so it's surprising they'd miss their deadline instead of just saying that and technically conforming to the 10 day rule.lymenheimer wrote:Lol at "checking the math"...It's plus 10, man. haha. Willis, check that your PT-ness (for lack of a better word) went complete then too. IIRC, even after your app is complete, you may have to fill out something online to activate PT, and the 10 days starts then.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
