Thanks! TBH my LSAT score was a lot weaker back then. I wasn't even anywhere near the 25th. My GPA saves me a bit though. Good luck to you!

I'm also confused as to why NYU and Columbia have overlapping admitted students days. Right now, I'm leaning toward going to them separately rather than doing the marathon.

When I was interviewing for Columbia, I was definitely getting the vibe that NYU and Columbia are rivals and competing for the same students...I am in at Columbia but still waiting for NYU? Perhaps it is an unwarranted assumption but I somewhat assumed that if you are admitted at one, then you are at least competitive at the other school?
Yeah, they're definitely rivals! Which is why I was speculating they planned their ASWs to overlap on purpose, haha. They know that applicants who really want to work in NY will be torn between them. I would agree that if you're in at one, you'll likely be in at the other or at least hear something!

Era of the pizza box era does seem to be over. Got my admit box today and it just had the book wrapped in a white box.

At least NYU was short and sweet with that email. I got one a while ago from Michigan that was a massive wall of text.
One of the worst emails I've ever gotten lol
Did you get the Berkeley fake-out email?
Yeah. The Michigan one was way worse though because the whole thing basically felt like "tl;dr we don't know wtf to do with you"

I got that from NYU today.

"Hey buddy. Just letting you know you're still under review. We don't know what else to tell you. Sit tight. We'll probably give you a decision sometime between now and April. Then again, maybe we won't. Cya!"

That fucking email...

So I'm actually not sure which UR I am. I have a date of 12/22 and I applied ~12/7. I didn't start checking status checkers religiously (Thanks TLS) until the end of dec or beg of jan. So I have no idea what UR I am. I'm assuming I'm UR 2 if I got the email, right?

It probably means they don't think you've been waiting long enough to warrant it. Most of us who got it seem to have gone UR in at least November/December with radio silence since. I'm went UR 11/20.

Probably sent to the earlier applicants to help (or facilitate) us from losing our minds. Since you applied later they probably didn't feel the need to assure you that your app's under review.

Probably over analyzing this...

My UR1 date was 11/16, which was the date I submitted my app. I went UR2 yesterday (2/10). I'm not sure if this was the first time they've ever looked at my application, or if it's the second time and my improved Dec LSAT score means they haven't decided to reject me (yet).

To be frank, I actually have no idea what I'm even saying right now. NYU has my head all sorts of jumbled. This is stressful, man.

lol so glad everyone else had the same reaction to that email as I did. Honestly when I first saw it and thought it was a ding I was relieved that the waiting was finally over. Almost more disappointed to read that it wasn't.

Whelp...NYU Law has decided I didn't need to know the status of my application and the status checker isn't letting me log in anymore. I double checked my username and tried to recover the password but when I type in the username, the status checker tells me they have no record of my account. Has this ever happened to anyone before?

Got the letter too. Sure, it wasn't what I wanted, but given that there have already been dings and WLs, this is not by any means bad news. You're still in the running

I second andy2012's curiosity. Do you guys mind sharing your stats, so we can figure out what kind of candidates got that e-mail? On my part, I'm at the LSAT and GPA 25th percentile.

Has anyone heard about named scholarships yet? If you applied for a named scholarship, have been admitted, and have heard nothing about the scholarship, is that a bad sign? Will they tell you if you're out of the running or no?

Also got the email with LSAT>75th and GPA<25th.

Seems like a lot of splitters.

I haven't heard anything, but I was admitted this week. I'm taking that as a sign that we'll be hearing about named scholarships soon! I know I'm reaching here, but a girl can dream.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
