I went complete 10/17 and am still UR 12/6. On the status checker it says it will take "up to 12 weeks from the date of completion before a decision is rendered," and now it's been slightly longer than 12 weeks. Should I call the admissions office, or would that seem crazy?

Re: Penn c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
i don't think it would hurt but at the same time i doubt they'll tell you anything. At a different school I was supposed to hear back within 8 weeks and at the end of week 9 I called and all they told me was that 8 weeks was just a guideline and that my application was still with the admissions committee.hannahmontana wrote:I went complete 10/17 and am still UR 12/6. Do we know when we can expect to hear about scholarships?

I'm still stuck at 1/12. I'm vehemently hoping that if they don't take me, they will hold me instead of waitlisting me. That way, I can put together a killer essay, update my file with a killer resume, and get a new LOR. I didn't put as much effort as I should have into my application (understatement), and at this point, I'm hoping they'll give me another shot.RomaRomaRoma wrote:RomaRomaRoma wrote:Anyone with a first UR 1/12 update again yet?
Sorry to bump, but for the new page: Anyone update today?

if Penn invites you to apply with a fee waiver, is it safe to say you have a good chance of getting in?

Towards the end of the cycle this is often used to bump application numbers, so no, unfortunately. I didn't look at your numbers though, so it's possible they do really like you, I just wanted to warn you about this strategy.POSERmyLOVE wrote:if Penn invites you to apply with a fee waiver, is it safe to say you have a good chance of getting in?

Got the acceptance packet yesterday!
it's definitely the most OCD of the ones I've received thus far. Huge folder with dividers and bound notebooks with info on every topic imaginable. Lots of fun reading to get to!

It seems everyone who had a certain score at Michigan got $54k dean's merit scholarship. Does Penn have an equivalent common amount/named scholarship? If so, what seems to be the threshold?Xifeng wrote:They start doing invites for named scholarships in February.Nobody wrote:Do we know when we can expect to hear about scholarships?

I had seen some speculation on here that legal writing would change from ungraded to graded and electives 1L would be taken away. The info in the packet says that there will still be 1L electives, so I guess legal writing is staying ungraded (for now).
