Only thing keeping me from giving up is the 8 or so LSN profiles from last cycle that got in after January holds.

Yeah, you're only at a 3.9/175. Those chances look pretty grim.nametaken wrote:Somehow Harvard has always seemed like an unattainable school for me.

Kidding, kidding, you're totally getting in. Put in a good word for me when you get your acceptance call. (Yup, still waiting too.)

Aw thank you guys! But you're both totally getting in! Hopefully we all three will be looking for housing in Cambridge soon!Take Two wrote:haha yeah put in a good word for us lowly passed over waiters!curiouscat wrote:Yeah, you're only at a 3.9/175. Are all of us who went complete pre-November pretty much destined for hold/WL/ding? Read through last year's thread and it didn't look too promising.

Probably, but holds were not an automatic WL/ding last year. There were people held until March/April who got KB1s/KB2s and were not waitlisted.mickeyD wrote:Are all of us who went complete pre-November pretty much destined for hold/WL/ding? Hold = they're still considering your file and haven't made a decision
WL = they've decided not to take you for now, but they might reconsider when spots open up as people begin declining

Not sure if this helps but a buddy got his acceptance last week after applying with Octobers scores.

If I have been UR since 11/7 and haven't heard anything can I assume I am a ding? My numbers are good, not Harvard good.

Complete for a month. Anyone know how long it typically takes to get the KB1 after going complete? Seems like some people have gotten it as quickly as a week later :/

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
I'm exactly at both medians (technically above GPA after this semester, but sending a new transcript seems like a waste for a .01 increase) and I can't decide if I should expect anything or if I should give up hope and stop checking this thread. Based on last year's LSN it looks like people at the medians did mostly well, but I also know there are several people around/above them in this thread that haven't heard anything this year. I promise I'm not trying to do some weird humble brag thing (would be laughable in a thread with 180/4.0s, haha), I'm just sort of curious if you think KB1s might be coming for those of us closer to medians sometime in the future or if you think they'll continue to focus on those much higher (or with awesome softs). Taking all opinions no matter how made up!
And don't worry about crushing my hopes, I can take it. I honestly would be kind of relieved to have no excuse not to go to NYC.
also, to ds princess, thinking one's KB1 went badly seems to be a pretty common theme in this thread. I'm sure it's okay

snehpets, wherever I look, we seem to be in the same boat and thinking the same things... for better or worse!snehpets wrote:I'm exactly at both medians (technically above GPA after this semester, but sending a new transcript seems like a waste for a .01 increase) and I can't decide if I should expect anything or if I should give up hope and stop checking this thread.
