It's more along the lines that they have a huge endowment which allows for a generous amount of scholarships.lawschooliseasy wrote:That´s what I saw on LSN. Seems like a huge scholarship given Emory´s ranking and my numbers, but maybe it is true that they are trying to buy their way up the USNWR ladder. I can only hope.gobucks101 wrote:That was fetching the 96k ones last year. Best of luck.lawschooliseasy wrote:I would like few things in the world as much to go to Emory with a fattie scholly. Now here´s to praying that my 3.6/166 gets me there...

You're not alone. I'm still waiting for a decision from any school at present time, and Emory isn't my specific main concern, but they're certainly a component of that concern. Aaaaany day now, guys. You too eh? It appears we share completion dates for both WUSTL and Emory. Why do schools seem to hate us, c&g? We've got a shot at hearing from WUSTL tomorrow though. If I remember correctly, they sent out afternoon acceptances on both of the last two Tuesdays (definitely last week, and I think they did the week before).cardinalandgold wrote:+1lawduder wrote:so... who else was "complete 1/19th" and still hasn't gotten anything in the mail?

Re: Emory 2010
I am also a 1/19 complete. I had a feeling Emory might have held my app for a while because despite my high LSAT score, I had taken it multiple times. I don't understand why a school would care how many times I have taken it (especially since they get to poach my highest number for ranking purposes).

1/19 still waiting as well...but I have a sub-3.6 gpa so I'm not holding out hope for a decision too soon...they have to cross that line sometime, don't they?

It does seem that way huh? Though for Emory I have a sub 3.6 GPA and it seems they are only admitting those with a GPA higher than 3.6 for now.stratocophic wrote: You too eh? It appears we share completion dates for both WUSTL and Emory. Why do schools seem to hate us, c&g?
I really hope so. WUSTL and their multiple complete dates are driving me crazy!stratocophic wrote: We've got a shot at hearing from WUSTL tomorrow though. 1/19 complete here. Technically 1/15; I got two "complete" emails. In either case, no news yet.
I expect either a ding really soon or a long wait. But, mostly, a ding: Under 25th LSAT; above 75th GPA w/7yrs WE.

1/19 complete checking in as well ... prepared for a long wait, although I don't think I'll be holding out for them.

Is Emory this slow with apps every year? Seems as though a lot of those accepted thus far will go elsewhere, which makes me wonder whether Emory's strategy could backfire (i.e. mad scramble to fill seats).

I've been completed since 12/14. Definitely the slowest school I have applied to in my cycle, but maybe they are just being very thorough...

Re: Emory 2010
i agree. It seems strange to say the least. Im just not sure what the gameplan here is. It seems there is some strategery at play, but I dont get it right now.UFMatt wrote:Is Emory this slow with apps every year? Emory Rob said in his answering questions thread that this was the first year they are doing completely paperless applications from start to finish, so maybe this is a learning year for them while they adjust to the system and then going forward they will be faster than most for the time investment this year. If this is the case, im not sure how they do this year. Or what means they have to maintain the kinds of numbers they have had in years past. I just hope they arent banking on having all the peoples who they have extended offers to as of now actually matriculating.
I actually got to meet a couple of the admissions people at one of the law fairs and they seemed really nice and genuine, so I hope this doesnt backfire on them...
