yeah i'd bet money that it is. aren't the numbers of everyone (save the cuban guy with a 3.4 171) pretty damn high? like it wouldnt' make sense to go to gulc without a nice scholarship high?beef wellington wrote:beef wellington wrote:It has to be an acceptance though, why would they just reject a bunch of people from the top tier of their waitlist.

I'm 3.34/170 - but I'm a first generation immigrant and have a killer diversity essay based on my Muslim background, majored in EE at GT (where the median is 2.7), and have six years worth of consulting experience.
I seriously doubt I'm any kind of YP though.

Preferred Wait list. 167/3.76 URM. Did awesome in the interview, but I guess not even a great interview can help sub-median numbers. No biggie. Cycle is pretty much over (save some looooooonnngggg shots UCLA/CORNELL/NYU/Stanford...lulz).

I just checked my status, and I've been updated to Decision Rendered 3/15/10. I'm a splitter (177/3.42). Hopefully we'll find out something tomorrow.

I also went to DR 3/15 after going the whole SSWL-->UR 3/9 DR 3/15--> UR 3/12 --> DR 3/15 route.
Can't log into the admitted students site. Would be shocked to get a rejection but I'll survive either way.

Does anybody know how long it usually takes to get your decision after it has been determined?

Re: GULC 2010 WL'ers
not to overanalyze this, but has anyone else noticed a pattern on their calendars? a bunch of people off of SPWL went UR 3/9 and then DR 3/15. GULC said they would let us all know by 3/22. To me, that looks like they split us into two batches, each reviewed for a week; that is, 3/9-3/15 and 3/16-3/22.
Of course, I'm not in the 3/9 batch so maybe I'm just looking for a way to not think about getting rejected..

Nobody in the PPWL is getting rejected until much later in the summer.nesnejnes06 wrote:not to overanalyze this, but has anyone else noticed a pattern on their calendars? a bunch of people off of SPWL went UR 3/9 and then DR 3/15. Re: GULC 2010 WL'ers
I should add that I was going over last year's GULC WL thread and there wasn't anyone who identified as being part of the PPWL who DIDN'T get in. Still under review, 3.4, 169. Hope I get in, at least part time.

did they use the march 22 deadline to admit people last year, or did it even exist?beef wellington wrote:I should add that I was going over last year's GULC WL thread and there wasn't anyone who identified as being part of the PPWL who DIDN'T get in. Re: GULC 2010 WL'ers
No, that's what I was looking for and I couldn't find anything about it. My somewhat optimistic guess, based on their communications with people last year: something along the lines of "we're about to start reviewing you guys again, please get in touch with us and let us know the extent of your interest." Last year the people who responded that they were interested got in. But again, it wasn't a mass update to everyone on the PPWL. At least one person got accepted in a reply to an emailed LOCI without the interest-gauging question first.nesnejnes06 wrote:did they use the march 22 deadline to admit people last year, or did it even exist?beef wellington wrote:I should add that I was going over last year's GULC WL thread and there wasn't anyone who identified as being part of the PPWL who DIDN'T get in. Interesting. I wonder what the odds are from the regular PWL?beef wellington wrote:I should add that I was going over last year's GULC WL thread and there wasn't anyone who identified as being part of the PPWL who DIDN'T get in.
