Hah, they must be sending different scholarships to everyone because, given my LSAT/GPA combo, I have a snowball's chance in hell of getting $30k per YEAR from anyone.unknownscholar wrote:30K, per year.H. E. Pennypacker wrote:

That's a lot of clams. Were you the one who got it, unknown? Congrats, if so. Do you mind sharing your numbers so I can attempt to judge what mine might be?unknownscholar wrote:30K, per year.H. E. Pennypacker wrote:

Just got mine in the mail. $24,300 provided I stay in the upper 40% (which includes FT/PT students). If you fall below the top 40% you can still keep partial.. there's a whole big letter attached detailing the stipulations.

Nice. I would see what you can in the way of dropping the stipulations if you think you have any bargaining power. It wouldn't hurt to try, anway.ligirl wrote:Just got mine in the mail. $24,300 provided I stay in the upper 40% (which includes FT/PT students). Thanks, yeah.. I have full rides to Hofstra/St. John's and although Brooklyn's much better I don't think I'll be able to turn down at least the one to St. John's. Let the bargaining begin.H. E. So I just called. The admission rep said that their systems haven't been updated yet, so she wouldn't be able to tell me the amount of my merit scholarship.

21,100 per year... top 40%. You drop to 40-50% and keep 80% scholarship. You drop to 50-65% and keep 55% scholarship. I think this is for all the scholarships.
I'd love to be in Brooklyn but thinking Rutgers may still be the better option.

Re: Brooklyn 09/10 cycle
got my scholarship info this morning! $30,600/yr!
seems pretty crazy because i wasn't expecting anything, but then again i'm pretty ignorant/cynical about the process.
i called the office yesterday to ask whether the merit scholarship section of my acceptance letter was standard or personal. the secretary said the letters went out that morning, and proceeded to take my SSN and tell me the amount of scholarship $ they are offering. i was a bit incredulous, having a hard time accepting positive realities, but the letter came this morning to confirm. i guess it was personal...
brooklyn was my first choice for a few reasons, and i sent in my seat deposit when i got it (january). i can't f*n wait to start school, and getting this award only amplifies that desire (i dunno, maybe to F*N...)
is anyone else in for sure?
