Just emailed my situation and reasoning to Karla Vargas and then actually ended up meeting with her personally as a sort of random aside (not sure how much that helped).clyde_barrow wrote:how'd you make that happen? just curious.Kronk wrote:60k -> 75k.crackberry wrote:Kronk - what did your Chicago offer get raised to?

Also, I'm super jealous of the match.

I asked Berkeley to match my Duke offer of $90,000 and I expected them to respond with a laugh.
Instead, they just responded by offering me a Full-Ride plus a $10,000 living stipend

OMG! That is incredible. Does this move Berkeley above Stanford?smov_operator wrote:I asked Berkeley to match my Duke offer of $90,000 and I expected them to respond with a laugh.

Thanks. No I didn't call in or anything. I didn't really take the matching scholarship thing all that seriously since my numbers weren't amazing and I had heard they tended to reject larger offers.
I was just about to order some Stanford gear and call my cycle a wrap. Now I'm not sure what to think.

Sorry for all the questions, but when did you submit your Matching App? I was kind of slow, had it ready to go last week but the finaid and admissions offices were closed all week for spring break. Sent it first thing yesterday morning.smov_operator wrote:Thanks. A call which I missed, then an email.emrose wrote:Holy Sh!t. That is amazing. Congrats! I submitted on the first or second day that they had the matching form available, but I think it doesn't really matter if you submit now-ish, as the first evaluations are supposed to come out April 5th-9th. They said they are prioritizing people with scholly deadlines. Maybe URMs as well as aren't smov and legacy both URM? Anyhow, I wouldn't worry about it if you get it in soon.

In all seriousness though, I am confused by some of the name changes. Why is Michig@n Hogwarts? And why pick Corne!l to be Princeton Law? And why is NU the People's College of the Law? Wouldn't UCLA/USC be better for that?

John Yoo University.
That name change works better for "Berkeley" than it does for "BoalTTT". A- for effort, though.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
