How long would it take to get the decision letter? On average?

Re: Maryland 2010
I think mine took about a week, and it was just a letter in a small envelope. My decision came right about the time of all the snow though.

It took me about 3 maybe 4 (?) days to receive my decision, and I'm in North Carolina.

So are some PT students planning on not working full-time or at all while going to school in the evening?get it to x wrote:A good chunk of PT applicants apply because they feel they have a greater chance of admission through that route than FT.

I will be working part-time as an international spy.
Since federal loans only cover 20K a year it will definetely help.
Plus: Every spy gets an Omega Seamaster wrist watch.

Those are pretty nice watches, but I would opt for a Marathon SAR.

I wasn't trying to be passive aggressive at all, I don't understand how my question is. I'm actually curious. I intend to go to school part-time. However, if I relocate to Baltimore, I would have to submit my 2 weeks notice for my current position.LSAT! Re: Maryland 2010
I'm sure there are people who go pt and don't work. My mom did that for a short time when she attended undergrad because she had my sister and I at home. I've thought about doing it just for the tuition difference. PT is a lot cheaper than FT. I'm not sure how loans are affected with PT though. I wonder if you are able to get as much $$ from loans if you aren't FT. I would also imagine that there are people who are concerned about the difficulty of law school and try out PT w/o working first to see if they think they can handle it. Heck, if I had the time and the money, I'd do PT without working. That would also give someone a break from working and a few semesters to chill most of the time.Nantucket2009 wrote:I wasn't trying to be passive aggressive at all, I don't understand how my question is. My bad, this board makes me paranoid. I assumed that if anyone was working it would be pretty uninvolved work such as restaurant worker/bartendar, UPS Hub manager, Policeman, etc.Nantucket2009 wrote:I wasn't trying to be passive aggressive at all, I don't understand how my question is. Don't know whether anyone who has been accepted received an e-mail notifying them that a decision had been made. I think most ppl on here found out by checking their status checkers on their own.

Re: Maryland 2010
Those apply to PT not for a reasonable constrain from FT should make an effort to consolidate with the rest of us at the school. I am a part-time MBA student now while working full time during the day. For the most part, we are different from the FT student body. We strive to bring in real-life/work experience to the classroom to solve real problems, not just the ones in the New York Time. I hope the adcom people know what the value of a PT program is really coming from.

Any fallout from the last batch of decisions sent out? Seems like they went for the PT program this time around. Anyone know if the UMD admissions office inundates you with e-mail or makes changes to the status checker if you're admitted?

I had DR on 2/17....I'm CA, so it may be early next week until I get it, but I'll report back. I'd be surprised if it were anything but a rejection, possibly a waitlist. And this is for full-time.

Not a lot of optimism for this batch. Now I'm convinced that we all will be either rejected or waitlisted. Nothing more.

You're probably right! I'm in DC, so I'll let everyone know when I get my small white envelope.onetimeonly95 wrote:Not a lot of optimism for this batch. Now I'm convinced that we all will be either rejected or waitlisted. Nothing more.

I've been in review since 2-16. Does it change to DR once they have decided or has anyone received their decision without their status changing?

Don't understand all the pessimism for the PT-er's? MD accepted students with mid-150's + last year with high GPA's and some middle of the road ones as well for the PT program last year. If you're in-state you might even have a greater chance than you think!
