The C-K admissions process is definitely a pain.

Better idea: Let's low ball them on their rep scores so we mess with their rankings!beast510 wrote:My status check went to In Review again on 02/16 after it was first changed to that in the first week of Jan.
Now I just want a response from them by the end of March, cuz I don't have lots of $ to pay for those damned first deposit.
20 years from now, let's sue these damned law schools who don't give us a decision before other schools' first deposit!!! They are robbing us just in another way!!! LOL

Sure is frustrating, isn't it? LOL. Still no change in my status or dates since I applied in Dec.keg411 wrote:I have the same days (IR 12/17, IR 3/11), but no deferral yet (just checked my status and no new e-mails). I honestly just want a decision, even if it's a rejection because Chi-Kent is so gone off my radar it isn't even funny.sapp wrote:In review 12/17

I withdrew today. There's an $80k scholarship back on the table. Good luck, everyone!

No idea, but I'm not going unless $$$$ anyway. I was already in Chicago once to visit a school (that I was not a fan of) and unless Kent tips the scales I really can't afford the time/$ it takes to go back.nowinGA wrote:Me too! What is the school like? I have never been but will be making a Chicago trip in the next couple of weeks...keg411 wrote:No idea, but I'm not going unless $$$$ anyway. I didn't go to see Kent because I hadn't gotten accepted (went to DePaul's ASD. Like Chitown, hated the school, withdrew).nowinGA wrote:What is the school like? What did you hate about it? (I have not heard back from them yet...) I loved Chicago and have lived there before, but have never been to Depaul...can you be more specific about what turned you off?keg411 wrote:

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
I just got an odd vibe from the school; but it was more of a personal thing (plus, everyone seemed to be interested in "International Law/International Human Rights Law" which I have zero interest in and think is BS so that turned me off). A lot of people that went to the ASD loved it, though, so don't take my word. I'm a little more transactional focused than DePaul seemed to be.nowinGA wrote:What did you hate about it? Got Kent's financial aid offer...despite having an EFC of 0...no need based grants. The scholly offer made them look lukewarm in my eyes, but now they seem downright tepid. I most likely will retake the LSAT and reapply next year.

In via status checker and e-mail today as well.
I would like to know when scholarship info comes out too. I love Kent but I have an offer from W&L and Iowa, and I'd feel wrong giving up the better tier for Kent if there wasn't money involved.

HAHA! I suppose it does, but I had a similar offer locally, which means I can nix the cost of relocation. The avatar stands!DonnyMost wrote:Your avatar makes this post pretty humorous.blackeyeddog wrote:I withdrew today. There's an $80k scholarship back on the table. Good luck, everyone!

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
The building is really new and modern. If I remember correctly, it was 10 floors, with the library occupying the top three or four floors. The 10th floor reading room was really nice, with a good view of the city. There wasn't as much around the immediate vicinity of it as there is around DePaul, but I'm not sure that matters too much. Chicago is a great city.nowinGA wrote:What is the school like? I have never been but will be making a Chicago trip in the next couple of weeks...

raskolnikov32 wrote:So, they e-mailed me Jan 14 saying I would get a decision in 2 weeks-2 months time. It's now more than 2 months later. Is it worth e-mailing to see what's going on or do I sit and wait as to not irritate them to the point of inspiring a denial/no $/less $?
They stressed to me at an open-house that you could e-mail them any time. I would say when you last e-mailed them (2 months ago) and just ask them if they could provide any info. I sent a similar e-mail after calling about 2 weeks earlier and got an explanation that I was in the "final stages of review" and could expect something in 1-2 weeks. The e-mail was very friendly and they didn't seem put off by it at all.

Two weeks ago they told me that a decision of my application will be made by the end of this month, and two weeks later, they told me a decision will be made two weeks from now.

My date changed from 1/5 to 3/22 maybe I will here soon? Waiting for Kent and IU then I'm done.

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
Just got in via email about 5 minutes ago! I've been complete since early January and under review about three times since then. Happy to hear back from them but man they were way off about the whole six weeks thingy.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
