Doubtful. Duke has a strict policy on communications with Non PT applicants... They don't communicate with them.

*sigh* As I posted before, that's really unlikely. Hoosier is just being sarcastic. Because there are no 10 day deadlines involved with any of us, Duke doesn't really have to rely on emails to notify us of our WLs in a timely fashion.

A school with 13 % yield rate cannot afford to outright reject a 172, 3.5 (nor many of the other numbers this batch comprises). I could totally accept that they don't necessarily need my 168, 3.99 to make up their incoming class, but I very much doubt they won't need that many 168s coupled with high GPAs to make up their incoming class.

It's mostly a WL batch, in all likelihood.

I thought someone posted earlier that they didn't receive the welcome email until 2 days afterwards, and that person interviewed. So maybe don't give up hope yet. (I know i'm the optimist) I just think that until someone gets an official letter or email or whatever, nothing is really set in stone.

I have to agree with that. Duke been really weird this cycle, what with the priority track nonsense and all, but there's no way they are going to outright reject so many borderline candidates. Unless they've gotten an unexpectedly high proportion of PT students accepting Duke already (which seems not to be the case), they are going to need to maintain a number of fall back options. With the way Duke is running, they may need to dip heavily into their waitlist applicants (again), so a waitlist here isn't all that terrible. Good luck to everyone. I mean, they could be rejections, but that just seems so ludicrous.

That being said, I haven't heard a peep from Duke since I went complete. I'm glad to know the University is still ticking, if nothing else.

Yeah that was me. Received an email 2 days after status checker went to decision and have not received anything in the mail yet ... so don't lose hope.

i wonder how big their borderline number interview batch is though. it didn't seem to be that huge on tls, but it's kind of hard to track. i went to a pre-law strategy session at school yesterday and out of the ten of us there, both myself and another girl (both 168s) had the duke interview offer. could just be coincidence or that wash. u. has a strong relationship with duke, but maybe that batch is bigger than we are realizing.

I received my email at 6:30 pm exactly two weeks ago, so it's not too late to receive one today. I also got the email before my status checker changed (and I'm not PT), but they could be doing things differently now. It seems likely that they are, because I'd be very very surprised if everyone from the 2/17 group receives rejections.

QUESTION. With this interview talk.... Did the number come up as blocked? I received a call during class last week from a blocked number and when my phone began to ring I went to turn it on silent then picked up and hung it up really quick, UGH. I hope it wasn't duke for an interview because I would have been on the next flight to NC.

So interview people, was it a call or e-mail and if it was a call was it from an unknown number?

This has already been discussed.

Because most if not all of us are Non PT applicants, Duke has not promised us a decision within 10 days. Therefore, there is no reason to think they will e-mail applicants with their decision.

Just looked at mine again also. It says updated 2/19 as well but it said decision made 2/17 yesterday as well.

Also just got in! I never really had the intention of going (applied because of a fee waiver) but it's still exciting! PS I was in the 2/17 batch.
