If that's the case, you can just email them now, and tell them that you can't give them an answer without your fin aid/scholarship package. And ask them to move the deposit deadline to the 15th. That's protected by official LSAC policy.chargers21 wrote:My deadline is the 10th. Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 WAITLIST
I actually emailed them a week ago. I submitted my CSS the day I was accepted, but I've not heard back from them. For a while, I thought they lost my CSS. So I just emailed last week to check on them. And they responded a week later from that, that was yesterday.StopLawying wrote:Wouldn't mind hearing back later this week, but next week would make things tough. Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 WAITLIST
If I were you, I would just send them the offer as an attachment. So you don't have to go back and forth in your negotiations. It might save you some time.chargers21 wrote:The other school already provided me with financial aid info, that's why I wanted to hear from NU before letting the other school know my decision. I think they purposely are going to give little time to limit the degree to which people could be negotiating.

Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 WAITLIST
Mine said it was merit and need combo but based on the fact I've gotten zero for need from every other school I'd say it was almost purely merit. Also the amount I received was far from laughable and has me seriously debating where to attendchargers21 wrote:Did anyone else's offer say that it was need-based?

Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 WAITLIST
Yeah, I got an offer that's also subpar. Maybe they are truly out of money. But I would wait for a little while, and see if they can increase the amount - if you are serious about attending. In my case, I'm withdrawing and heading to Duke.chargers21 wrote:+1. Laughable amount. Good luck all, I'll be withdrawing

That's ridiculous, and much less than I thought! I guess they decided to throw in the towel.chargers21 wrote:I would have attended for like 75k more than they offered, so I doubt negotiations will pan out. Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 WAITLIST
But you're currently deposited at one school, right? So not sure how including more offers would help.chargers21 wrote:Don't quote. NU wants waitlisted candidates to fill out the standard reconsideration form if they want reconsideration. Only allows for 2 other offers. Which sucks because they were my second worst financial aid offer and I had a lot to work with
