With in-state tuition, this is the best deal on a legal education (if you're aiming for big law) in the country.PrezRand wrote:Does anyone here prefer UT to the T14? If so, why?

If you want to work in Texas there really isn't a better option overall.PrezRand wrote:Does anyone here prefer UT to the T14? If so, why?

Have you been offered a scholarship yet? If so, they sometimes grant resident tuition as part of the award too to increase the value of aid. If you did not receive this, I would try to negotiate for it.dietcoke1 wrote:can out of state students qualify for resident tuition in 2L?

I haven't been accepted or denied yet. Just noticed how big the difference is between in-state and out of state tuition and I was just wondering in general if 2Ls and 3Ls can qualify for in-state since they would have lived there during 1L.LawSchoolTitan wrote:Have you been offered a scholarship yet? IIRC I think they make it very hard to qualify for instate in that situation but you should check with the schooldietcoke1 wrote:I haven't been accepted or denied yet. For those that have received scholarship information, how was this information transmitted to you? Just received the acceptance voicemail today, and wondering if that would have been mentioned in the message. Thanks!

I applied on 11/19 with 25<GPA<50 and LSAT=175. Radio silence, no "Why UT?" request. Should I assume WL/ding at this point?

Eh, I applied the same day and also haven't heard anything. It's still pretty early in the cycle to assume a WL/ding though, especially since there was a holiday in November and another one now.addie1412 wrote:I applied on 11/19 with 25<GPA<50 and LSAT=175. The whole page changes. The top says something like admitted and date. Then you have links to the admitted student website and some information about UT. And a list of important dates (deposit, ASDs, etc).brinicolec wrote:govlife wrote:Mine changed 3 days after I got the acceptance call, and I only noticed because I got an email about it.brinicolec wrote:Did the status checker change at all?pizzagoblin wrote:Email a week or so after the acceptance call. What does it change to?
The change would be obvious, but I wouldn't worry about checking it, since you'll hear by phone call and email before any changes happen.

People who have already submitted your apps: how do I submit a why Texas law essay? There seems to be an optional essay prompt only to explain any disadvantage. Should I email the Admissions Committee with my essay separately?

Re: Texas C/O 2020 (2016-2017) Applicants
I got into Texas and was offered some money, but not close to a full ride, and I really do not like the idea of debt beyond what is minimal, necessary, and very very likely to be easily repaid in the near future. Will Texas respect a full ride from Wash U and up their offer because of that? What schools are good for leveraging Texas with? Besides the obvious T14 ones. If its, say vandy and ucla. Should I approach those two first with the Wash U offer and try to get them to offer something pretty high and than take those offers to Texas? Or would they not respect the Wash U offer either
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
