What are JS1s usually like? I imagine there's been a lot said about this. Could someone point me to whatever thread or article I should read? What sort of questions are typically asked? How long are they?

They are fifteen minutes long and are more conversational than a typical interview. I got asked about a summer job I had, about certain UG experiences from my resume, what I wanted to do after law school, and what activities I was interested in doing at HLS. More info is available in the OP of last year's thread ( http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=252298 , it's kind of far down and is a big block quote), also the source of the block quote is the C/O 2017 applicants thread on page 17, around which there is more discussion if you want to check it out even further.beckettbuddy wrote:What are JS1s usually like? Anyone else on tonight's HLS Online Info Session? My sound keeps cutting in and out and I'm wondering if it's just me or a problem on the HLS end.

+1. It seems like they're covering a lot of new ground and I'd love to hear their answers in full. Maybe they'll be able to send out a recording?NotAGolfer wrote:Agreed. Really interested in hearing what they're saying.

So has anyone been successful in soliciting a recorded version?NotAGolfer wrote:Fingers crossed, I would definitely rewatch a recorded version.SmallK wrote:+1. The closest thing you will get for a source is this interview with the HLS dean of admissions: http://www.admissionsdean.com/researchi ... sica-soban . In it, she notes that they were interviewing about 1200 people that year, and we know that they accept around 900 each year and that everyone who is accepted has been interviewed, so that gives a chance of 75%. There has been speculation about whether the number of interviewees has been raised from 1200 since the interview took place (2012 I think?), but there is no evidence for that, and people's best guess seems to be that the # of interviews is still right around 1200.scott2016 wrote:Can you provide the source for this?
