Yeah, that's probably what it was. Good call.ebjdmph wrote:steviewonders wrote:According to my status checker, "Information about Moritz" was mailed to me 5 days ago following their mailing of the view book.
errrrrrrrrr...
I think that update may be in reference to the "diversity and inclusion" email that was sent around the same day. When the checker updated to show that my viewbook had been sent, it explicitly said "mailed," whereas the "information about moritz" has no such indication. I could be wrong, but I figured that the timing match up may have been indicative that the update meant the email.

Sorry if this has been discussed already but I submitted my app a little more than a week ago and I just got an email from IT about activating a username...does this mean anything? Or does everyone get this email?

It is not near deposit time for Ohio state (5/1). So for those of you who have not yet heard back, not to worry. It is not April 1st like most schools. Hope this helps.

?But my acceptance letter clearly speaks "You have been admitted through our Early Admission option. Your seat deposit is due 04/01/2016 and is $225.00."VPlaw wrote:It is not near deposit time for Ohio state (5/1). So for those of you who have not yet heard back, not to worry. I'm assuming this is a case of Early Admission/Decision procedure differing from regular decision.yenisey wrote:?But my acceptance letter clearly speaks "You have been admitted through our Early Admission option. They not only moved to # 30 in the rankings, they have bypassed William and Mary and are only two down from Alabama. I wonder what happened.

What happened is the rankings are almost entirely made up and based on useless things like what kinds of new facilities you have and median GPA, rather than useful output data like employment stats, median income after graduating, bar passage etc. They matter obviously, but only as an order of magnitude comparison. Once you get outside the top 20 it's all regional and basically a wash until you get to the 40-50 range.VPlaw wrote:They not only moved to # 30 in the rankings, they have bypassed William and Mary and are only two down from Alabama. Has anybody received notification of Michael E. Moritz Merit Scholarship? The admission staff says both semifinalists and nonsemifinalists are supposed to receive notifications by March 16. Now a week has passed.
I understand "nonsemifinalists" as those who are eliminated from the semifnal. Is it correct?

Although Iowa gets into T20, its employment stats seem not better than OSU's.lawlawlaw22 wrote:What happened is the rankings are almost entirely made up and based on useless things like what kinds of new facilities you have and median GPA, rather than useful output data like employment stats, median income after graduating, bar passage etc. They matter obviously, but only as an order of magnitude comparison. That's what i mean ,it's almost completely regional. Notre Dame being the exception.yenisey wrote:Although Iowa gets into T20, its employment stats seem not better than OSU's.lawlawlaw22 wrote:What happened is the rankings are almost entirely made up and based on useless things like what kinds of new facilities you have and median GPA, rather than useful output data like employment stats, median income after graduating, bar passage etc. They matter obviously, but only as an order of magnitude comparison. OSU waiting for the early admission deposit deadline of April 1 to pass before giving news of the Moritz Scholarship. Classic.

The admission staff says if you get into the semifinal, the deposit due day will be expended. The problem is that the semifinal list is supposed to come out by March 16 but actually up to now no message about the semifinal has been received.lawlawlaw22 wrote:OSU waiting for the early admission deposit deadline of April 1 to pass before giving news of the Moritz Scholarship. Re: Ohio State c/o 2019 Applicants
I called today. They are shooting for Wednesday, but it sounded like it could take until the end of the week. What I'm really worried about is that they won't be able to select finalists by the 11th and will effectively force the semifinalists to double deposit. OSU + Moritz is my top choice, but I have a few other schools I'd rather attend than OSU + 48k.lawlawlaw22 wrote:Hmmm 3 days left until April 1st deposit deadline and 2 weeks overdue on their deadline for Moritz....

The 11th of April is the date when Moritz recipients are supposed to be notified. Considering how late semi finalists are being notified, I doubt this timeframe will hold.lawlawlaw22 wrote:What is the 11th?GreatBraffsby wrote:I called today. A late April decision dare screws up people who are leaning towards other schools. For instance, anyone deciding between OSU and Notre Dame Law can't wait to find out about the Moritz after April 22nd, unless they're willing to potentially double deposit or ask Notre Dame for an extension. I guess it doesn't matter for people who are going to OSU no matter what, but I want all my options on the table when I decide.

Just got the Viewbook today...26 days after it was mailed according to my status checker.
Fitting, given the wait to hear back on apps/scholarships.
