A little late, but this poll is hilarious.

Nothing. Nothing matters. No one's getting into SLS. First time ever that a law school has skipped a class. "We had an extremely poor applicant class this year, and with and acceptance rate of 0% our ranking should increase to beat Harvard."clarf wrote:What's even going on with this thread?

Be careful. If you talk too much smack about this thread DC will come back with a vengeance.clarf wrote:What's even going on with this thread?

So woke up to see Stanford's new numbers and there's this little optimistic piece of me that wants to say this changes everything.
169/171/173
3.78/3.89/397
Anyone else taking this drop as a game-changer? Or am I deluding myself?

How long does it normally take to get the status checker? It's been just over a week now (though I submitted on a Saturday so I guess exactly a week in terms of business days) and I'll I've gotten is the initial notice-of-receipt email.

Yo DC, you've had this poll up forever, and yet my current poll is still kicking this one's butt. I think it's time for you to shake it up.

Finally ready to submit my Stanford App. Question: Does having a targeted LOR really make a difference if the recommender is not a lawyer and/or Stanford grad? My employer is willing to write a targeted LOR because she knows Stanford is my top choice, but I'm not sure what to really ask her to say that would be different than the standard LOR. Seems like having her simply repeat that Stanford is my top choice would be silly. Appreciate any input.

I don't think SLS has said anywhere about how much or little it makes a difference, just that they accept them? I think the general idea is that it's best if you can get someone linked to Stanford, then a lawyer, then a targeted LOR just discussing Stanford. Maybe give your recommender some nuggets on WHY Stanford is your top choice - specific programs that you'd be a good fit for, etc etc etc - that they can integrate into your targeted LOR?icantwait wrote:Finally ready to submit my Stanford App. Question: Does having a targeted LOR really make a difference if the recommender is not a lawyer and/or Stanford grad? I have not forsaken myth read, I just haven't been able to change the OP because I've been doing everything on my phone for the last month or so. I'll update the poll and add the spreadsheet link some time this or next week.

I hadn't actually looked at my status checkers page, and the email Stanford sent me links to the Berkeley status checker and I'm shook.
