Was I supposed to receive an email after my application was completed? It says complete on LSAC, but haven't heard from the university at all. Just happened yesterday, but still...

Checking in, too. Sometimes I wonder if they judge at all what time of day these damn things were submitted ...

Gotta say Penn has one of the best viewbooks out there.
I'm just below their median GPA but above their 75th LSAT. Unfortunately, it looks like they care about GPA a lot more than the LSAT.

Any correlation between fee waivers/solicitation for application and acceptance?

Re: Penn c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Quick question,
So I applied to Penn early September but haven't yet written one of the optional essays. After reading through this forum, it seems like the general consensus is that Penn actually does care about these optional essays. Is it too late to submit one at this point? Would submitting an essay this late in the game be viewed as negatively from an admissions standpoint?

Penn does value the optional essays and the core values prompt generally allows you to write a Why Penn. Others may disagree but I feel like the window of opportunity was missed since you submit those essays along with your application. However, Penn probably would take it if you submitted it late--it may be awkward having to explain why you didn't submit it with your app.bsk5116 wrote:Quick question,

I kind of agree, but I think you could spin it as "I want to reiterate my interest in Upenn here's an essay of why I want to go here." Like you would do for the waitlist. It may not have the same effect as if you submitted it with the rest of your app, but if you really want to submit now, this could be how you do it.

Re: Penn c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
The only thing is it is pretty early for a letter of continued interest. I'd take the approach that the rest of my application was complete and I was eager to submit. However, I really wanted to make sure that my optional essay received thoughtful attention.threatlevelmidnight wrote:gobears!! wrote:Penn does value the optional essays and the core values prompt generally allows you to write a Why Penn. Re: Penn c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
So here's the weird thing:
(I already applied last month)
When I finished writing my essays for Penn and clicked submit, I realized that my application fee had been waived, which was weird, cuz, well, I didn't remember receiving a fee-waiver mail.
I scavenged through my inbox and discovered Penn's fee waiver for the 2014-2015 admission cycle when I was still in college.
So apparently a year-old fee waiver was still valid.
Anyone else experience this?

Re: Penn c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Has anyone seen any movement on their status checkers beyond Complete? It looks like Penn sends out first acceptances in mid-December, and if there's a UR period then you'd think they would have moved into it by now. Unless they don't do UR on the checker, in which case this is completely irrelevant and sorry for wasting everyone's time.
