Very helpful! JS1b's were just given to those who had pre-WL JS1s, right? Or to both?

Does anyone think visiting helps?

The consensus seems to be that it can't hurt but is unlikely to help very much as the waitlist is typically used to balance out the class's demographics

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
Just preWL JS1s yeah, all or at least all of the first wave of post WL JS1s were given "homework" to do which was just to tell JS if they would attend or not.pylon wrote:Very helpful! JS1b's were just given to those who had pre-WL JS1s, right? Or to both?

Lol my guess is it's asking where will you be depositing/attending if the WL doesn't work out. Interested to hear where those who selected "Other" will end up. Re-applying? Other T14 school?MustaphaMond wrote:I am confused by the poll.

I voted "other" but I'm still not 100% set. Most likely reapplying though.pylon wrote:Lol my guess is it's asking where will you be depositing/attending if the WL doesn't work out. I was just being fastidious: for me, at least, the poll reads "How long will you ride the WL" and then is followed by a list of schools.stoopkid13 wrote:I voted "other" but I'm still not 100% set. Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
IIRC someone said that Harvard does not have a deposit deadline (but if every other school has a deadline then this doesn't really matter) but if history serves as a guide we should see the first waitlist movement around the week of May 4 ( which I assume is your reasoning for asking )

Harvard doesn't have a deposit, but there is a commitment deadline of May 1st (just with no $$ attached, lol). The thinker wrote:IIRC someone said that Harvard does not have a deposit deadline (but if every other school has a deadline then this doesn't really matter) but if history serves as a guide we should see the first waitlist movement around the week of May 4 ( which I assume is your reasoning for asking )

checking in. WLd end of march. I have a high GPA from an ivy, relatively low LSAT but highly unique softs (may be considered a URM but not sure). Do you guys know if WL JS1s are offered based on LSAT score, or is it arbitrary? I'm really hoping to be invited for an interview early on but my low LSAT might stop that from happening

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
It's definitely not "arbitrary", they go more or less in order of which applicants left on the WL that they like the best. It's not solely based on numbers, though there is obviously a strong correlation.

Does anyone know if we send LOCI straight to the admissions email address and of/how we should address them?

i think TCR is not to send a LOCI unless you have a significant update, but yeah straight to the admissions email seems appropriate.tfarunner wrote:Does anyone know if we send LOCI straight to the admissions email address and of/how we should address them?

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
i'm not sure of your specific situation but i would really consider retaking and reapplying next year (stay on the WL and hope for the best, but if it doesn't work out). a high GPA from an Ivy and really unique softs make you a VERY strong applicant if you can get your LSAT to 173+.mernburg wrote:checking in.
