Oh that makes a lot of sense! Thank you for that.pcph wrote:I read earlier on this thread that it was taking so long in Dec/early Jan because one of the admissions people was on maternity leave. That makes sense. That may be why it took awhile for you to go under review as well. So maybe you'll have a decision sooner relative to people who applied in December... But I really have no idea for sure.JMWZ wrote:Illinois is pretty slow. I applied almost a month ago and only went under review a few days ago. And it might take another month? Awh jeez.pcph wrote:Mine was about a month and a half or so, maybe a little less. This was back in December, though.FutureJD21 wrote:Anyone know how long it took after it went "Under Review"?

Checking in! Went under review around last week. Really hoping for an appealing offer! Scholarships for me have been extremely hit or miss, so I'm hoping UIUC comes in the clutch!
Although I have noticed a little less full tuition scholarships being thrown up this year with comparable scores to last year. So fingers crossed and good luck everyone!

With your numbers there is no reason you shouldn't be able to negotiate to somewhere between 40k to full. Send your offers from other schools around and see if they bump you up.thatguy12 wrote:Checking in! Went under review around last week. Really hoping for an appealing offer! Would an offer from a peer/better school be required for a scholarship increase. I've got around 75% covered and wanna see if I can get a full scholarship. Would this be possible without a competing offer

Very unlikely. At a minimum you'd need to show an offer from a lower ranked school. It's not too late to apply to Indiana/Iowa and try to levy any money you get from them.Okie25 wrote:Would an offer from a peer/better school be required for a scholarship increase. Just accepted via email with 40k per year! Wasn't seriously considering Illinois until now, but I'll definitely be at the April 3rd ASW to check it out!

We are on the same boat. I was hoping that we'd get a decision soon, but if they went into review at the first week of December, it's going to be longer than I thought...JMWZ wrote:Yes sir. Status just changed to conditional admit. What in the world does that mean?

My scholarship reconsideration request was rejected. Illinois is still a top choice, but one of my in state schools would be $20k cheaper over 3 years. Would it be worth it to try again when I get another offer? Either way, looking forward to the first ASW.

hey how about this: get your in state school to bring your offer up; then come back to UIUC?NasserK wrote:My scholarship reconsideration request was rejected. In state school was a full ride. Indiana said they'd give more than their original 60% offer, but not until late March. Nothing from Iowa yet.

I called Iowa a while back, they told me they usually send scholarship info within 2 weeks of acceptance, I've given up on getting anything from them.NasserK wrote:In state school was a full ride.
