I'm moving to Chicago regardless. I only want NU. My backup is a corps program, City Year. If I dont get NU this year, I will reapply. Moving to Chicago in July from Texas.

I just want to know what state I'll be living in in 3 months. Is that too much to ask?

I've actually been kind of curious about what other people are doing with this. How long are people generally waiting before signing leases and whatnot to their other choices?

Lease with termination clause is TCR.

Wait I'm a noob, do landlords regularly allow this? I thought once you sign you're obligated to pay for however long the lease is for.

I'm signing with university housing and they allow for a termination clause in case I do not attend. The dude contacted me first, so it's legit.

He said "resolve" the hold status. Which, to me, means decisions

Right, but they said they would "meet to resolve" them. So they could just say they're going to meet for awhile-like another two weeks. Look I hope I'm wrong, but that's what it seems like.

That's the difference between hold and waitlist. When you're on hold you are guaranteed a decision. I doubt they will wait till August, because from the posts I read it sounded like they use the hold applicants to adjust their numbers so that they dont go down in rankings. On the other hand, if you get waitlisted, you might not know till class starts.
I have a feeling we will get answers next week and that it won't be in waves.

Judging from how NU handled early decision and the ED-holds, it might come in waves. For those decisions a few people got in one day, a bit more the next, and then the holds/ rejections came, and the same cycle happened when they revisited the ED-holds, some got admitted and then later some got re-held. I predict today there are a few admits, and next week is a "mixed bag"

First I got an email saying held decision would be made late this week or early next.. but then it said it might not be made within the time frame I need for deposit to another law school (which is mid next week). So now I don't know what to think.. maybe 2 weeks seems like a good time frame for held decisions to come out.

Good news! I spoke w the admissions office.. There will be "some" decisions made today and "some" next week. But "all" held applicants will hear back this month with a A/D/WL response. *puts on helmet* here we go.
