So it looks like a bunch of JS1's went out to the waitlist a week after the big waitlist wave last year -- JS1's April 12 from April 5 WLs. Anyone think we'll get a round of them this year?

Not sure, although obviously there will be some to come. Comparing the spreadsheets from the last two cycles, this cycle a significantly greater proportion are reporting pre-WL JS1s. The data is limited, but I wonder if they aimed to do more interviews before the WL this cycle, so as to cut down on the amount they'd have to do after.

As a K-JD splitter, I'm still coming to terms with the fact that my 2nd semester senior grades actually matter now.

Anyone think the personal statement is undervalued on this forum? I know a lot of people on here see it as something that doesn't do much for an application, but it seems like that's also where you could really sell yourself as someone interesting, and not just a run of the mill applicant.

I think once you're at the level of school that Harvard is at, every part of your application is important and nothing should be taken for granted.

Any of you also going to Columbia if the waitlist doesn't work out? Would love to correspond with you and get your thought process!

I'm in a situation now where I don't know what I'm going to do- I've been toying with the idea of just deferring for a year at a specific school (either UVA or Columbia, but I still need Columbia FinAid info to assess whether it's really a viable option), but if I do that, I have to withdraw my app from HLS. Then I'll never know what may have been There are just too many adult decisions to be made in the next few weeks.

Good find, ty! Also, even though the difference is small, the fact that the % of people admitted off the WL was higher for reverse splitters than splitters makes me nervous.

My formulas gave a very charitable interpretation of the "x" in the "3.8x" people input for their stats, hence the difference.

I reorganized my whole life around going to school this Fall, actually moving home to save $ for three years of school AND staying in a job that I should have left over a year ago. I was getting ready to go to NYU @ sticker when my Feb LSAT came back big, and now it looks like the smart thing is to wait a year in the hopes of getting either HYS or Columbia Hamilton/Butler. So it looks like I have to decide whether to start preparing for job interviews and moving back out (let's say after 6 years it's been something of an adjustment), and perhaps going to NYC for the job ops I'm thinking of. All the while hoping H comes at me.
