I had previously gotten a scholarship that they just replaced with a fellowship. I got that letter today, and I also got a call from the dean.WestWingWatcher wrote:I'm not sure... So to answer your question--no, the acceptance letter didn't mention the fellowship.monsterman wrote:I had previously gotten a scholarship that they just replaced with a fellowship. I was accepted via email followed by an admission packet the next day. The packet contained the fellowship and scholarship.monsterman wrote:So to answer your question--no, the acceptance letter didn't mention the fellowship.monsterman wrote:I had previously gotten a scholarship that they just replaced with a fellowship. I posted something a week ago or so. I called to ask if that status meant they were waiting for anything specific (I wanted to be sure they weren't missing anything I forgot to send). She said W&M does not have rolling admissions, so when you get that status it means you're in the general pool to be reviewed against the bulk of applications beginning after the March 1 deadline. Obviously they at least look over files as they come in, because some people are admitted immediately and others are rejected pretty quickly. But a Hold status means you were neither a shoo-in nor an automatic rejection, so you'll most likely hear back sometime beginning around 3/15-4/1. Also worth noting again, W&M has some of the nicest admissions staff I've spoken with, super friendly and helpful.SailorMoon9543 wrote:Are you sure we won't hear anything until March? Okay! Thanks for the info. I just spent the last hour reading the last two years worth of W&M threads. One poster said they called the office who said there were 1,000 people on the waitlist. I'm hoping just because they are holding my application it isn't going to the waitlist in AprilPattyCake wrote:I posted something a week ago or so. No, rejections and waitlist decisions are being sent out already - if you've been moved to Hold for Further Reviews then you're in the running. That's not to say you won't be placed on a waitlist, but if you are it isn't likely to be until the March decisions are made. It looks like they put their preferred class together all at once, so that they get the dynamics they want for the whole.

Okay, that makes me feel better. Honestly, my LSAT is in the 25th so I'm happy just to be on hold. I do have some pretty great work experience that coincides with their disability law fellowship though...keeping my fingers crossed.

My status is still at "file is complete and in review process" for 15 days and counting, however, my requirement list changed in my status checker which includes checklist items that indicate one having an acceptance (ie "health form", "photo", "official UG transcript received", etc.)
Is this the norm??

I would guess that means you're accepted and will receive an email soon. Haven't heard of that happening to anyone who wasn't in, anywhere.AAJD2B wrote:My status is still at "file is complete and in review process" for 15 days and counting, however, my requirement list changed in my status checker which includes checklist items that indicate one having an acceptance (ie "health form", "photo", "official UG transcript received", etc.)
