Haha, I was just being difficult. I browsed the WL sheet and 2 individuals with similar numbers were WLd and id give my left nut to go to UVA, never thought id even have a chance so I didn't apply

Just got an email asking to call in. Is this good news? I haven't been following UVA's WL practices.

Also, if I would be fortunate enough to get in, does anyone know the policy regarding $$ off the wait-list?

sounds like youre getting in! that's exactly how it went for me. Good Luck! also, if you're in off the waitlist you're not qualified for any merit aid :(

It is good news. From past patterns, you appear to be an admit. They will quiz you on your dedication to UVA, though. In other words, "If we admit you, will you attend?"

And they are not giving merit scholarships to those off the WL.

Just called in. Took the honest route and said that for as much as I love UVA I wouldn't be able to attend if I didn't receive any type of aid, with the hopes of not wasting anyone's time and allowing someone else to get the call sooner if in fact, aid is unavailable.

Doesn't sound like I'll be getting in after that bit of transparency, but such is the way of the world.
