It is the group that will become the waitlist. If you are not rescued from it or rejected out of it, then you roll over into the waitlist.aztec27 wrote:Is pfcd considered the waitlist for alabama?

anything that can be done proactively to get off of it or is it just a huge waiting game?

Now would be the time to dig up extra recommendations and pad your resume.aztec27 wrote:anything that can be done proactively to get off of it or is it just a huge waiting game?
Personally, I am drafting my LOCI right now and spiffing up my LGBT diversity statement. Every school that I sent it to gave good scholarships and accepted me immediately so I am going to include it. I'm hoping it will separate me from all the other middle class white girls applying.
IMHO, I really think this is the sweet spot for applicants like me to try to stand out. They are basically shut down waiting for better applicants to come in. Now is the time to shine; I'm not waiting until they are busy with rejections and forming the waitlist. They don't formally notify you of a waitlist until like June, but it is basically a soft rejection.
Good Luck!

Just got in via phone call. The woman who called me was a sweetheart. Everyone at UA has been pretty nice so far. Though it may be because I'm an undergrad here. Good luck all!

UA is by far the nicest admissions office. You can tell they really do care about their students.Rolltide52 wrote:Just got in via phone call. The woman who called me was a sweetheart. Everyone at UA has been pretty nice so far. Though it may be because I'm an undergrad here. Good luck all!

Re: University of Alabama c/o 2016
I waited until the bitter end last year. Got a call from assistant director of admissions that got my hopes up then Claude Arrington (she's not in admissions anymore) called to let me know that they had filled all their spots. That led me to believe that I barely missed getting off the wait list. Anyway, I will probably stay on a wait list until the bitter end this year as well. I'll probably accept an offer from Cumberland and stay on the wait list at UA until the last minute.2012Lsatscore wrote:Did you stay on the waitlist until rejected or did you withdraw. I think I am going to ride it until the bitter end and I'm just hoping it was the latter.harge008 wrote:As a 164 myself, I completely agree. Got a call from Admissions today, no verdict but encouraged me to call with any questions. Said my app should be finished with review shortly. Applied Feb 7.

How many times do y'all check the status checker? I'm guessing that I average about half a dozen times a day.

I dunno. I spotted my admission to Ole Miss and Cumberland before I got the call. It is probably driving me crazy anyway. I'm still waiting to hear about scholarships to my back up schools. I think I should probably spend more energy figuring out how to pay for Cumberland.

I have been under review since January 15th. If PFCD is the de facto waitlist, I am curious as to why I am not either PFCD or outright rejected by now... Anyone have any insight on this?2012Lsatscore wrote:It is the group that will become the waitlist. I applied to 13 schools this cycle. Alabama and Texas are the last 2 I don't have an answer from
Everything is bigger in the South... even applicant's waiting time.

I just got the call. I'm in at Bama. I accepted immediately. I'm not even gonna wait on a scholarship. I doubt they would offer one anyway. Good luck everyone who is still waiting.

Out of curiosity, did your status checker update before you got the call?

I'm not sure. I didn't get a chance to compulsive check the status checker before the call.1984 wrote:Well-done and congratulations.harge008 wrote:I just got the call. I'm in at Bama.
