If Emory's max outside of a Woody is 105K I don't see how they are ever going to fill a class.
Btw nothing here, applied and went complete a billion years ago.

Oh definitely. My theory is that they really look beyond the numbers when determining awards/acceptances. I know some attorneys who encouraged me to apply not just because it's a good school, but because it'srfar1815 wrote:Nope, average white girl with even less impressive softs. Their overall endowment is famous as well. I believe they recieved the largest single academic donation in US history, thus far.

Anyone received info about travel stipends for any ASWs? I requested one and all I got in return via email was "Yes."

Got the sense on the admit packet that they will put you up in a hotel but not pay for airfare.timeandspace11 wrote:Dont take this as gospel but I thought I read somewhere that they dont do travel stipends.

Really? I thought "transportation" might be a facet of our attending for which they might pay.Got the sense on the admit packet that they will put you up in a hotel but not pay for airfare.

I should respond to that email with an "Admit me" around midnight this weekend and hope for a "Yes" in reply.

Re: Emory class of 2016 (2012-2013 cycle)
Hi everyone – this is Ethan Rosenzweig, the dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Emory Law. I appreciate your allowing me to post information from time-to-time as the application cycle moves forward. Here are a few notes:
Application Decisions: As folks have posted, our first round of admission decisions were mailed early last week. Our next phase of letters is at the post office, and I anticipate these leters to arrive in mailboxes by the end of the week. However, I want to stress that there are many more rounds to go. Trust me. I know how stressful this time of year can be for our applicants, and it is my goal to issue decisions as quickly as possible.
I hope you know that as we put together our incoming Class of 2016, we spend a lot of time reviewing your application, reading your essays, your recommendations, and your resume. I know lots of folks describe these as “soft factors,” but they truly are important to us. You have spent a good amount of time crafting the perfect application, and we feel a strong obligation to provide you a comprehensive and deliberate review. I sincerely appreciate your patience.
Visiting Day: Our Visiting Day for invited students occurs on Saturday, April 13. You will have lots of choices of where to matriculate, and we are pleased to provide hotel accommodations on the evening of the 12th to make it easier to experience the Emory Law community. Visiting Day is a little later this year because the NCAA Final Four is in Atlanta the weekend before with Easter and Passover in the weeks preceding. I hope to see lots of folks at what is traditionally a very memorable experience.
Deposit Deadlines: Our first deposit deadline is Friday, April 19 due to Visiting Day being pushed back a little bit. I know we are one of the later dates among law schools for deposits, and I am working on some ways to make it easier for folks to deposit with us. More details to come on that, hopefully!
Questions: I hope these updates provide some insight on our process. It is my goal to ensure that you have all the information you need to make an informed decision, and I encourage you to email us directly at admission(a)law.emory.edu if you haven’t received an answer to your individual question.
Now a little story: I am a huge Atlanta Braves fan (don’t worry, we love our Mets fans in the law school as well!). A few years ago I was furious at the General Manager of the Braves for some player decisions he implemented. I was hemming and hawing for months – to the point where one would have thought that the “E” in ESPN stood for “Ethan”. Ironically around the same time, I was in the airport boarding a flight, and the GM was making a promotional appearance. Perhaps I was tired – I am not sure what got into me – but I marched up to the GM and started asking him all these questions about the trades he was making, and probably not in the most respectful manner that my parents raised me to act. Anyhow, he spent somewhere like 10 minutes walking through his decision calculus and explaining to me why he made the trades. I was embarrassed because while I still disagreed with him a little bit, he did make some sense. (And I gave-in and renewed my season tickets.) So, I suppose that this is a long-winded way to encourage you to please email us directly if we can provide some clarity on any question you may have.
I appreciate your allowing me to post here, and thanks again for some outstanding applications this year. It is invigorating to read your files and picture the future of our Emory Law community. See you on campus soon.

Just how large is this next batch of letters? A significant wave? Or a more modest wave or decisions?
