I got the alumni interview request as well, 2.8/167. Interesting that it says that it will not hurt your application if you decline, I wonder if there is more risk in doing the interview than not taking part in it

Yeah I can't imagine it's for anything other than gauging your interest. You didn't apply ED?bananasplit19 wrote:Haha, thanks for shooting down my borderline theory. 170/3.92 is a few ticks north of borderlineCMC88 wrote:I also just got an alumni interview request with a 170/3.92. Do we know if these are for borderline candidates and what topics are covered in these interviews?![]()
Maybe they asked you to test out your interest level (for YP purposes)?

My GW status checker link doesn't work, the one they emailed me. No one else? Can someone link me the address to the checker?

The address is correct but the link doesn't work. You have to copy and paste it into the browser.
**edit: The above link works, I was referring to the link in the email

Has anyone who was accepted gotten info about logging into the admitted students site?

I see a bunch of admits around my numbers (3.1 169) on LSN, but still just complete as of 11/19/12. Anyone else experiencing extremely few updates, or am I boned?

I had an update last week, but it was for an interview invitation. Maybe it's a good sign; they might admit you without the interview.emarxnj wrote:I see a bunch of admits around my numbers (3.1 169) on LSN, but still just complete as of 11/19/12. Are standards up, down, or the same at this school?

I did mine right before x-mas. It was fairly typical: why law school; why GW; "if you couldn't be a lawyer, what else would you do;" then about a half hour of them selling you on the school. If you really want GW and are happy to pay sticker, you should make sure the interviewer gets that impression. Talk about the clinics and programs you love the most to show you've done your research. Talk about how much you love DC. etc etcbgoodrick wrote:Anybody done the alumni interview? I just got mine set up for next week, first one of these interviews I've had to do
I have similar numbers to you and have gone through a few of these "borderline" interviews. I think they want an LSAT score and some easy gov't loan money to offset reverse splits and scholarships. and I think they're looking for someone who's happy to be used. Maybe I'm just a cynical bastard from being in "completed status" purgatory.

I actually think this is spot on. And personally, I would make them pay for that 169 LSAT you have. They can easily offset your GPA with someone else. LSAT much rarer.kuttlefish wrote:I did mine right before x-mas. Re: George Washington c/o 2016
Question for those who had been rendered a decision: How long after "Decision Made" do we get to know our actual decision? Do we hear by mail, phone, or snail mail?
