Lol, anyone else love the balls on the person who applied with a 142 and a 2.1 GPA on the Admissions Outcomes graph on the first post? Rock on, whoever you are!

Congratulations!! I applied early November and I've been super anxious about getting a call. UCLA is definitely near the top of my list.orbbs wrote:Admitted via call earlier today! Quite excited about the news! Applied in mid-October.

Re: UCLA c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Hi all,
First time poster! I got accepted to UCLA via phone on 11/19, I got the snail mail package on 11/24 but no mention of scholarship info. I know someone else posted about receiving a separate package about aid later on but I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile (or stupid) to email admissions asking about when I might hear about this...
I also applied for the Epstein Public Interest program (decisions still pending), so maybe that's factoring into them waiting on a decision about money?
Thanks for any thoughts/help!

Checking in. Would love UCLA since it's the only school I've applied to in a climate somewhat similar to home.
Congrats to all of those accepted! Please withdraw quickly if you don't want it, I'd be more than happy to take your spot

Just got in via phone call
was pretty giddy. 168/3.72, got $60k ($20k/year), so somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 a year.

Hey guys,
applied ED (because I know my numbers aren't great) with a 166 and a 3.69 - in-state. anyone think I have a shot? Getting a little nervous seeing all of these acceptances with great numbers. Has anyone else applied ED?

I don't think you should be nervous. Your numbers are solidly in their range. You definitely have a shot!ams929 wrote:Hey guys,

I'm around there too and applied ED: 169/3.61, in-state, though I like to think I have strong softs? Don't lose hope! I found this interview with Dean Schwartz somewhat heartening for EDers: http://www.admissionsdean.com/researchi ... t-schwartzams929 wrote:Hey guys,

Thank you guys for the optimism, and that interview is hugely helpful! I wish I had seen it before. Here's hoping ED and the shrinking applicant pool help me out this year!hattrick87 wrote:I'm around there too and applied ED: 169/3.61, in-state, though I like to think I have strong softs? Well that interview just killed all hope I had left. My numbers are a bit high for Loyola and a bit of a reach for USC/UCLA... But I want to stay in L.A. - First World Problems

Got the call from the dean today- I'm in! They're offering me $15,000/year. 167/4.0, submitted 11/10, complete 11/16. This is my first reply from all the schools I applied to, and it alleviated some pressure now that I know SOMEBODY wants me.
