Take a look at this blog post to get an idea of how the status checker now works at Michigan:

The gist is that Michigan now posts your decision online as well as sending a letter in the mail. There is no delay in the status checker being updated. This means that there is no longer any incentive to try logging into the admitted students website to discover whether you've been admitted (as there was in the past).

I think that's an awesome change. It may be disappointing to see just "Deny" one day, but I am so anxious to hear back that getting a decision a few days earlier would be great.

There is a event tonight at the Law School for UMich UGs basically selling three more years in Ann Arbor tonight. In the email they mention wanting to meet all of us applicants (I will not be in attendance, so I won't be able to give an update). I kinda got the vibe that acceptances could go out early in the day to get people excited and all that jazz. Pure speculation though.
