So, I just recently found out that one of my recommenders got his PhD from the University of Chicago. I guess I knew that before, but I had never really thought about it in the context of law school applications. On Chicago's app, it has that field asking if you have any connection through alumni to the law school - do you guys think I should send them an email letting them know that he's an alum?

Thinking about calling them tomorrow and asking them if I should...

I haven't but since my app has not gone "Under Review" and is sitting at complete for over a month, I have a feeling I'll be getting one. When did you get your invite, and what does your status checker say?

According to the link:

We review applications in the order they were completed. We will then invite candidates to interview after the initial review of their files. Your application will go under review (as indicated on your status checker) before you will be considered for an invitation to interview.

So it would seem that they haven't started reviewing your app yet, and it needs to go under review before they consider whether or not to invite you for an interview. And since they (supposedly) read the apps in the order they go complete, it's not like they're waiting to read yours because they're judging it's borderline by just looking at the numbers. Even then, they claim there's no correlation between being borderline and being invited to interview.

This is very helpful, thank you. I was under this impression because people who submitted the same time, or even after me seemed to be going under review in November while I was stuck at complete. I figured that since this is a bit of a reach school for me, I would probably be one of the likely people to get an interview, and this could be a reason.

Hello all! I too am applying for Fall 2013. Chicago is my number 1 and I applied November 6th, and my application is "under review" the waiting is killing me!

For those of you receiving interviews, how long has it been since you submitted your application?

I think I put mine in on the 20th of Nov., so still pretty recently, but any bit of info helps haha.
