Today's waitlist update:

We will be releasing most of our waitlist participants on Monday, August 6; if you are among the released group, you will receive an email alerting you to the change in status. After that date, we will retain only a very small core of waitlist participants who have indicated a very strong interest. Although we have no present plans to make additional waitlist offers, this highly unusual waitlist season has humbled us about our ability to make accurate predictions. It is possible that we would make offers as late as orientation, which will occur in the last week of August.

So I take it nobody is getting in now?

Sigh..I haven't heard back yet. Did they mean between now and Aug 6, there won't be any waitlist offers, meaning ppl who were interviewed last week won't hear back until the end of August unless humbling unexpected waitlist movement happens?

Yeah I'm guessing the phone calls last week were to see if we could be the lucky group of people who get to stay on the waitlist from which they do not plan on admitting anyone.
